“If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. 2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. 3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. 4 When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.” Colossians 3:1-4

To be hidden away in the death and burial of Christ is to be at complete rest and safety!

One disciple writes: “The rest is found in the death. Works then flow out of the person who rests and abides in the death position in Christ. The key to being in Christ is to abide in His death.

This is a paradox: labor is found in the midst of the death. Christian life is not solely activity. It is always passive-active. No rest no authentic works. It is the paradox of effective ineffectiveness. Strength is only found in weakness. Moving forward is found in waiting on God. Wholeness is found in brokenness.”

When you get down low in humility, the devils got to go! The cross is your hiding place (Colossians 3:3).

When our lives are vested, invested into the death of Christ, the good fruit will follow (John 15; 12:23-25).

“And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. 24 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it.” Luke 9:23-24

DENY SELF: Give up your own will. Refuse to follow your own will. Deny self any pleasure which doesn’t come from nor lead to God.

TAKE UP THE CROSS: Die to sin; crucify it; go against what you would choose to do, embracing God’s will.

FOLLOW: Accompany Jesus in His mission as He has given in His Word, empowers by His Spirit, and leads.
