Getting BETTER not BITTER! [video]
Are You Getting BETTER or BITTER?
“Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.” Proverbs 4:23
Some get bitter rather than better as they age and perhaps experience hardships. This does not have to be. This is a choice, either way.
Warning against becoming bitter:
“Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled; 16 Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright. 17 For ye know how that afterward, when he would have inherited the blessing, he was rejected: for he found no place of repentance, though he sought it carefully with tears.” Hebrews 12:15 -17
“For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land. 25 Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you. 26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.” Ezekiel 36:24-26
PRAYER: Holy Father, please purify my heart afresh, cleanse me from every trace of sin, evil, and nasty attitudes. Please sweeten this disposition as You alone can do. We ask You in the name of Jesus to make us happy in Jesus as You’ve forgiven and freed us from our sin. We are Yours. And so we know that of all people on Your earth, only Your people can be truly happy in Thee dear LORD. Let Your pure joy in Your people be a witness of Your goodness and salvation. Please bless each of Your beloved saints to be anointed for the death and burial of the self life and raised up in Your blessed resurrection grace and joy. In Jesus’ name let it be dear LORD.
“These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.” John 15:11
God’s stated intent is that His people be holy, and in that place of sanctification, happiness, joy, and contentment always follow.
When you are unholy, you are in darkness and are unhappy (1 John 3:19-21).
When you are holy, you are happy.
