Preach the Word [podcast]

“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” 2 Timothy 2:15

The man who is truly faithful to God will search out, diligently study, devour, and learn the words of God and be used of Him to communicate them to others.

“So they read in the book in the law of God distinctly, and gave the sense, and caused them to understand the reading.” Nehemiah 8:8

  • They read the Word itself.
  • They gave the sense to help the people understand it.

Phillip was able to give the sense of the Scriptures, to show Christ to the Ethiopian eunuch who was reading about Jesus is Isaiah. Our ministry, each of us as Christ’s “ambassadors,” is like how Philip who ministered to the Ethiopian eunuch. Remember how the beloved searching Ethiopian was reading the Bible, Isaiah, in his chariot but couldn’t understand it because he wasn’t saved? So then what? Well God sent Philip to minister to him and lead him into the kingdom of JESUS. Read that beloved of God because the LORD wants to use you mightily in this late hour! See Acts 8:26-39.

As is evidenced by the lives and ministries of Jesus and His holy apostles on the pages of Holy Scripture, true disciples will boldly “PREACH (declare) the word” and not put it out there as if it’s a suggestion or apologize for it with no fear of God (2 Timothy 4:1-4, etc.). The LORD uses crucified vessels, therefore they are not self-serving nor do they fear mere men (1 Corinthians 2:2; Galatians 2:20; 6:14, etc.).

The written Word reveals the living Word Himself.

PREACH CHRIST NOW.

IF Jesus taught something and we’re not teaching it – it’s because we are not following Him correctly – on HIS stated terms (Matthew 28:18-20; John 8:47; 2 Timothy 3:16; 4:2-4, etc.). Are you following Jesus Christ or mere man? Do you preach Christ and His doctrines from HIS Word or are you just regurgitating the pitiful poisons of mere men?

WHEN you hear someone saying something like “Get into alignment, there’s a SHIFT coming,” OR “God is repositioning you,” RUN! These are new age pagan terms! The are no where found in the Bible! People who use this type buzz word terminology are usually deceitfully seeking to position, to shift people into a place to exploit them for their own self-serving agenda. Beware saints.

God gave us His Word in written format so they’d be no confusion and also, no excuse on Judgment Day (John 12:48; Romans 2:16; 1 Corinthians 14:33; 2 Timothy 3:16-17, etc.). The Word of God is the basis by which the LORD shall judge each of us.

ARE YOU PREACHING THE ACTUAL WORDS OF HOLY SCRIPTURE OR SOMETHING ELSE? HAVE YOU REPLACED THE DIVINELY INSPIRED WORDS OF THE BIBLE WITH YOUR OWN WORDS? ARE YOU WISER THAN THE ALMIGHTY? ARE YOUR EXPLANATIONS, TERMINOLOGY, AND WORDS MORE POWERFUL THAN GOD’S?

Regrettably, the world is full of empty ministries, ministers.

“Whoso boasteth himself of a false gift is like clouds and wind without rain.” Proverbs 25:14

The phrase “clouds and wind without rain” represent ministers with no substance, no Word from God – from God’s Word. Our testimony is good but nothing in comparision to obeying God by preaching HIS Word. Remember that all testimonies are subjective. The Bible is divine (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:19-21). There are so many empty ministries like the LORD foretold who go on and on and on telling stories, talking about themselves, etc., and yet don’t get their audience into God written Word. They are “clouds and wind without rain.” In other words they have no real, divine substance and are false teachers.

In 2 specific and recent instances, 2 separate brothers in Christ asked me to listen to long drawn out “ministry” message in front of 2 different small congregations. Well, it took very little time to skip through those whole videod messages and see not even one of those wolves reading from the Bible itself. Boom. Case closed. True servants of the LORD simply minister HIS Word. They don’t stand up and go on and on and on and on about themselves and everything else under the sun except Scripture. Read Nehemiah 8:8; Isaiah 8:16, 20; 2 Tim 4:2-4 etc

“If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles (written Word) of God.” 1 Peter 4:11

Unless someone is biblically intensive, unless they are going to engage in a time of delving into God’s Word itself, it’s not only a waste of time, it can result in being misled.

“In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. 4  And this I say, lest any man should beguile you with enticing words. 5  For though I be absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the spirit, joying and beholding your order, and the stedfastness of your faith in Christ. 6  As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: 7  Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving. 8  Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. 9  For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. 10  And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:” Colossians 2:3-10

A Worker Approved by God

Let God speak for Himself by reading or speaking HIS words, not our own …. Notice, you have to study and know God’s Word for yourself so that you are not wasting God’s time, spinning your wheels using “words to no profit” but rather using God’s Word to convert those who hear you….

2Tim 2:14  Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them before the Lord that they strive not about words to no profit, but to the subverting of the hearers.

2Tim 2:15  Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

2Tim 2:16  But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.
