Luk_17:33  Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it; and whosoever shall lose his life shall preserve it.

Joh_12:25  He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.

“It must be important for us to lose our life.  Otherwise, the Lord would not have said it so many times. By the way, the KJB translates two different words as the same word, “life.”  The “life” to lose is the “psuche” or soulish life or self-life.  The life to gain is the “Zoe” which is the life of God.” TB
