“Dying to self I have learned is the key. I wonder what took me so long but I never heard that message. SafeguardYourSoul was the first time I heard that message. Romans 8: 7-8. I had no clue what that scripture meant. That is why I am so grateful. I was just drowning in my fleshly ways with no change. I kept thinking ‘Is this all this is to being a Christian?’ Everyone around me seemed to be okay with living out of their flesh. I knew God had more for me but didn’t know how to get it! As Christ’s disciple, I cannot more fully agree with sister Karen in the statement above. Personally, I never gained great traction till beginning to learn that message and applying it.

KINGDOM PERSPECTIVE: The cross message is super encouraging because the more you go down, the more the LORD is going to raise you upward. Boom.

The Results of the Crucified Life

“Entertainment is the devil’s substitute for joy. The more joy you have in the LORD, the less entertainment you need.” Leonard Ravenhill

Joy is a fruit produced by the Holy Spirit in the lives of those who are truly abiding in Christ – on His stated terms, at the center of which is the cross, the crucified life (Galatians 5:22-24; Luke 9:23-24, etc.).

SO you are talking about the fruit of the Spirit and not the cross? Read Galatians 5:22-24 now.

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. 24 And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.” Galatians 5:22-24

As we see in the above passage, the cross and the fruit of the Holy Spirit cannot be separated. The evidence of the Holy Spirit in a man’s life manifests in a raised up life, a life full of the nine dimensions of the fruit of the Spirit listed in Galatians 5:22-23!

It’s by the Holy Spirit, not the Flesh

“Through the Spirit” – and so it’s not a work of the flesh but rather a surrender to the Savior, the Greater One – Jesus Christ, the Almighty (Revelation 1:8)!

“For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye TROUGH THE SPIRIT do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.” Romans 8:13

“Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?” Galatians 3:3

Walking with Jesus is not a work of the flesh but rather an abiding walk in the Spirit with Him.

Sin is Rooted in the Hearts of Men [podcast]

“The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?” Jeremiah 17:9

Jesus taught us that man’s sin comes out of his “desperately wicked” heart (Jeremiah 17:9).

“And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man. 21 For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, 22 Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: 23 All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.” Mark 7:20-23

Mankind’s core dilemma is sin (Romans 1-3). Jesus Christ came and died to “save his people from their sins,“ to “taketh away the sin of the world,“ and not to merely deal with fallen man on a surface level as on a mental level (Matthew 1:21; John 1:29). God doesn’t band aid broken things, He heals and makes them whole to the root because the root determines the fruit (Matthew 12:33; Luke 4:18, etc.). Christ’s salvation is perfect. Evil is in our hearts and proceeds forth from that wicked heart until Christ regenerates us (Genesis 6:5, 12; Jeremiah 17:9; John 3:3, 7; Titus 3:5-7). This is why the sinner must of divine necessity be born again, must be made completely new “by the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Ghost” (Titus 3:5-7). Then and not before then, the born again saint of Christ is made a “a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 18 And all things are of God” (2 Corinthians 5:17-18).

Is Romans 7 Before or After Paul’s Salvation?

Don’t trust yourself, trust God and deny self! “He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool: but whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered” (Proverbs 26:28).

Only Satan and his children live by the diabolical edict of “be true to yourself.” Knowing how wretched they are of themselves, without Christ, those who are known of God live by “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. 7 Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.” (Proverbs 3:5-6)

People don’t have a “mental health” problem, they have a SIN problem and sin is what gives way, gives full access to Satan!
