Saved by Works or Faith?
Are YOU Good Enough to be Saved OR
Was Christ Good Enough?
“The center of Righteousness is found in Christ alone by Faith alone.” David ODell
WHY O WHY did God bother sending His only begotten Son to die for our sins IF we could have been made righteous by our own good works or the old law? It’s time to get a clue!
“Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: 2 By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. Romans 5:1-2
“It is Finished” said Jesus while bleeding to redeem mankind (John 19:30).
We must be careful of the deadly works-righteousness taught by the Roman religion, SDA, JW, Mormonism, Judaizers, and all other antichrist cults. Works-righteousness is in full and open denial of Jesus Christ and His perfect, finished work (John 19:20). Those who believe they can merit God’s righteousness and forgiveness by their own works deny Jesus Christ and His efficacious work of redemption by saying that man can be good enough without Him to merit God’s saving grace. Pour over Rom 3:19-25; 4:4-5; 5:1-10, etc. God is good!
The LORD wants us to be good believers – to fully trust Him in faith – and not do-gooders who vainly think that our own good works justify us before Him.
“For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another. 4 But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, 5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; 6 Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour; 7 That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.” Titus 3:3-7
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.” Ephesians 2:8-10
“Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. 5 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.” Romans 4:4-5
Saving grace ALWAYS – without fail – produces the fruit of good works (Ephesians 2:8-10; Titus 2:10-12; Hebrews 3:6, 12-15; 10:26-39; 12:14-15, etc.). Any person claiming to be saved by grace who does not have a present life with Christ – abiding intimately and obediently with Him – is a deceived and hell bound soul.
After being saved, under the new covenant, it’s not law keeping but rather abiding in Christ, amen? John 15 “Abide in me.”
Saved by Works or Faith? Obedience is the FRUIT that proves we know and love the LORD and are in an abiding relationship with Christ. Good fruit, good works are always going to be resident in every one of God’s true children and yet fruit doesn’t save, only JESUS can do that! (John 15)
Yes it’s true that those living in sin are hell bound for there is no excuse for sin – because the LORD is “Holy, holy, holy.” (Isaiah 6:3; Romans 6:1-2; Hebrews 12:14; 1 Peter 1:15-16; Revelation 4:8, etc.). Yet we must not lead people to believe that we are saved by our own works or obedience but rather by CHRIST HIMSELF (Ephesians 2:8-10). Good works is the fruit of knowing and abiding in Christ and yet they don’t save us – CHRIST does! (John 15)
Our works and fruit don’t save us, YET they are proof that we possess saving faith (Titus 1:16; 2:11-15; Eph. 2:8-10, etc.). Those who don’t bear good fruit are not in a saving relationship with Christ (Matthew 3:7-10; 7:16-23; John 15:1-6; Galatians 5:19-23, etc.). Good works and good fruit and obedience are the clear proof that one is trusting in Christ and abiding in a saving relationship with Him. Those things do not save us and yet, they are ALWAYS resident in the born again disciple who going to be with Jesus eternally.
Response to a heretic who posted a link titled “James was wrong”:
No heretick, phony Bible corrector… you simply do not understand how to sythensize the whole of Scripture. Repent for denying Christ by denying what HE chose to be in His Word.
Paul taught how to be saved (by faith) while James shows us exactly what saving faith looks like – it’s full of good works because those saved are “his workmanship” and the LORD is working in them (Ephesians 2:8-10).
We are justified by CHRIST Himself, saved perfectly…. And our good works which He commanded, are the fruit of that relationship with Jesus and not what saves us! John 15
Any person thinking that their own “ability” to keep the OLD Testament law helps make them righteous, is also utterly deluded and hell bound (Galatians). See the following resources for clarification.
—– The BIBLE says that the old law was AGAINST us and so God sent His only begotten Son to get it out of our way!!!! Why would anyone want that curse? (Galatians 3) It’s time to get a NEW Testament life saints …. and to never again be entangled again with the curse of the old law for righteousness. Study Galatians.
“For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: 4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.” Romans 8:3-4
