Examining Ourselves Honestly [podcast]

I am not a good person, neither are you – “There is NONE righteous, no, not one (Romans 3:10). Admit it. The sooner we become HONEST with that which is more than obvious, announcing freely and transparently – that there is “NOOOO good thing” in us except CHRIST, the sooner God will begin a new, deeper work in us! (See Romans 7:18, 24.) The Cross!

It’s a “Way of Life” – that is, to be corrected by our Father (Hebrews 12:5-12).

“Reproofs of instruction are the way of life.” Proverbs 6:23b

Now read Hebrews 12:1-12 and know that God’s correction is simply the clear proof that He loves us – that we are HIS! Rejoice! Then read Revelation 3:19.

“As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.” Revelation 3:19

Life in Christ involves continual learning, a never ending classroom of divine instruction and correction, of learning to lay down our lives, to abandon ourselves to Christ – crucified with Him, dead and buried, and raised up by Him! (Read 2 Corinthians 4:10-12)

“How many are mine iniquities and sins? make me to know my transgression and my sin.” Job 13:23

We know when our lives are not dead and buried with Christ (practically speaking) if the works of the flesh are raising their ugly head (Galatians 5:16-24). So, we know then to get back to the cross, right? | The Crucified Life

What are We Attempting to Hide?

“HE THAT DOETH TRUTH COMETH TO THE LIGHT”

The true remnant are known in that they come forth into the light, and continue to do so – to the end.

“And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21 But HE THAT DOETH TRUTH COMETH TO THE LIGHT, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.” John 3:19-21

There’s still darkness in each of us. When confronted, what do we do? Do we repent or rebel?

“He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.” Proverbs 28:13

Those who are truly right with God are honest with Him. They “declare” their sins openly instead of trying to hide them. The LORD cleanses them afresh! 1 John 1:9 anyone?

“For I will declare mine iniquity; I will be sorry for my sin.” Psalms 38:18
