Worship of Idols and Demons in the Modern Church

Idols and Demons are Inseparable – All who worship one or more idols have devils!

“And the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues yet repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship Demons, and IDOLS of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and of wood: which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk:” Revelation 9:20

Read Deuteronomy 32. God protects His people as long as they abide in His Word, in adherence and obedience to that sound doctrine that is His Word (John 15:7; 2 Timothy 3:15-17; Titus 2:1, etc.). Otherwise they will worship Demons and be destroyed (Exodus 32; John 10:10; 1 Corinthians 10; 1 Peter 5:8). The LORD seeks to protect His people and yet He will not, if they choose to walk in sin – which gives them over to Demons (Hosea 4:6; 1 Corinthians 10; 2 Thessalonians 2:9-12, etc.). See also Acts 20:20-32.

If you have 1 idol in your life, that will damn your unrepentant wicked soul to hell irrevocably just exactly as a million idols will. Either you’ve truly repented and Jesus Christ is the LORD, the MASTER of your life, or you are as sure for hell as if you were already there (Galatians 5:19-21; Revelation 21:8). Any wolf posing as a pastor who isn’t preaching this to you is an agent of Satan. Repent, make Jesus your “FIRST love” for yourself and when you do, you will cease promoting and supporting Satan’s “ministers” and begin exposing them! (See Revelation 2:4-5; 2 Corinthians 11:12-15; 2 John 7-11.)

EVEN though nearly no modern “pastor,” lightweight coward, will simply state what the Word says, idolatry is a soul damning sin (Galatians 5:19-21; Revelation 21:8). IF you have one idol in your heart, life, or house, you have put them in place of God, He has departed, and you’ve invited demons and they are controlling you (Exodus 20:3-5; 34:14; Deuteronomy 32:17; 1 Corinthians 10:19-21). Repent now, sinner.

Every person who has an idol, just 1, has demons (Deuteronomy 32:17; 1 Corinthians 10:19-21). Repent now. Follow Jesus.

In both Testaments, the worshipping of idols is integrally connected with the worship of Demons. Most don’t realize this truth: Any person with just one or more idols in their life has been turned over to Demons. The LORD is a Jealous God and will not permit such to coexist with Him (Exodus 34:14). It’s either or (Matthew 12:30).

“They provoked him to jealousy with strange gods, with abominations provoked they him to anger. 17 They sacrificed unto Demons, not to God; to gods whom they knew not, to new gods that came newly up, whom your fathers feared not. 18 Of the Rock that begat thee thou art unmindful, and hast forgotten God that formed thee. 19 And when the LORD saw it, he abhorred them, because of the provoking of his sons, and of his daughters. 20 And he said, I will hide my face from them, I will see what their end shall be: for they are a very froward generation, children in whom is no faith. 21 They have moved me to jealousy with that which is not God; they have provoked me to anger with their vanities: and I will move them to jealousy with those which are not a people; I will provoke them to anger with a foolish nation. 22 For a fire is kindled in mine anger, and shall burn unto the lowest hell, and shall consume the earth with her increase, and set on fire the foundations of the mountains. 23 I will heap mischiefs upon them; I will spend mine arrows upon them. 24 They shall be burnt with hunger, and devoured with burning heat, and with bitter destruction: I will also send the teeth of beasts upon them, with the poison of serpents of the dust. 25 The sword without, and terror within, shall destroy both the young man and the virgin, the suckling also with the man of gray hairs. 26 I said, I would scatter them into corners, I would make the remembrance of them to cease from among men:” Deuteronomy 32:16-26

Worship of Idols and Demons

One idol will send you to hell no different than 100.

(by HMM)

“‘They sacrificed unto Demons, not to God; to gods whom they knew not, to new gods that came newly up, whom your fathers feared not.’ Deuteronomy 32:17

“This terrible indictment was in the farewell song of Moses, written just before the tribes of Israel prepared to enter the promised Land. Perhaps Moses was thinking mainly of the golden calf fashioned by Aaron, who had told the people: ‘These be thy gods, O Israel’ (Exodus 32:4).

“Aaron and the people certainly knew that the man-made calf was not the ‘gods,’ but they knew that there were many invisible spirit beings in the world and that these ‘Demons’ (actually fallen angels) could indwell images made by men as objects of worship. These evil spirits do possess certain powers, which can be used to impress their worshippers with the magical insights and abilities of the images.

“This was also a problem in the early church. Paul warned his converts at Corinth, ‘the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to Demons, and not to God: and I would not that ye should have fellowship with devils’ (1 Corinthians 10:20). John’s closing word to his own flock was ‘Little children, keep yourselves from idols’ (1 John 5:21).

“It is a serious problem today – not only in lands where images and animalistic spirits abound, but even in the ‘Christian’ West, both in the proliferating New Age cults and in mainline churches that have diluted sound Bible teaching with humanistic and ritualistic pantheism. And remember too, that covetousness (that is, coveting money, or power, or anything more than the will of God) ‘is idolatry’ (Colossians 3:5). When the prince of these Demons himself sought the worship of Jesus, the Lord answered: ‘Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve’ (Matthew 4:10). We need to remember and follow His example.”

It simply doesn’t matter what idol you place before loving Jesus Christ supremely, it comes with Demons and damnation (Revelation 21:8). If Jesus Christ is not the supreme love of your heart, your life, you are an idolater and will be damned to hell irrevocably if you do not repent – turn to Him with all your heart. | The First Love of the True Disciple [podcast]

“Thou shalt have no other gods before me. 4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: 5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;” Exodus 20:3-5

“Son of man, these men have set up their idols in their heart, and put the stumblingblock of their iniquity before their face: should I be enquired of at all by them?” Ezekiel 14:3

Simply put, whether physical or imagined (imaged, conjured up in one’s mind) an idol is the figment, the God-less object of one’s sinful, corrupted, defiled, unrepentant, and demented heart and therefore imagination.

“And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.” John 3:19-21

Man made idols are merely figments of the imagination or physical wooden, stone, plaster of paris, etc. These are inanimate elements created by the ONE you should be worshiping “in spirit and in truth” (John 4:23-24). How can your “god” help you if you have to create him yourself, prop him up, pump up your psyche, and carry him around? What kind of “god” is that? –A false god!

If you have one idol in your life, that will damn your unrepentant wicked soul to hell irrevocably just exactly as a million idols will. Either you’ve truly repented and Jesus Christ is the MASTER of your life or you are as sure for hell as if you were already there.

For a powerful lesson on the LORD’s hatred for idolatry, read 1 Corinthians 10, and Exodus 32, and Deuteronomy 32 carefully.

1 Corinthians 10:14-22

“Wherefore, my dearly beloved, flee from idolatry.
15  I speak as to wise men; judge ye what I say.
16  The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ?
17  For we being many are one bread, and one body: for we are all partakers of that one bread.
18  Behold Israel after the flesh: are not they which eat of the sacrifices partakers of the altar?
19  What say I then? that the idol is any thing, or that which is offered in sacrifice to idols is any thing?
20  But I say, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to Demons, and not to God: and I would not that ye should have fellowship with Demons
21  Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of Demons: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord’s table, and of the table of Demons.
22  Do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? are we stronger than he?”

All who fornicate or covet are hell bound idolaters – regardless of swearing to be Christians.

Ephesians 5

“Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children;
2  And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.
3  But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints;
4  Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks.
For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God
6  Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.
7  Be not ye therefore partakers with them.
8  For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:
9  (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;)
10  Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.
11  And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.
12  For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret.
13  But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light.
14  Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.
15  See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,
Eph 5:16  Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.”
