“All power is Given unto Me in Heaven and in Earth” [podcast]
“And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. 19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” Matthew 28:18-20
There’s a notable difference between Jesus and the false religionists. Nothing has changed. There’s power in the lives of those who are crucified with Christ because there’s power in Jesus and His Word! He said that “ALL power” has been given into His hands and that He bestows it upon His witnesses! (See Matthew 28:18-20.)
When Jesus spoke, there was power! When His present day disciples speak His Word, there is power!
“And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine: 29 For he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.” Matthew 7:28-29
“All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth” ~Jesus
“ALL power” is in Jesus Christ and therefore “ALL things are yours.” (Matthew 28:18-20; 1 Corinthians 3:21) “ALL power” from Heaven is available to the disciple of Jesus in fulfilling the mission He came to accomplish. Like Jesus, can we yet say “I MUST be about my Father’s business”? See Luke 2:49.
In context, when Jesus says “All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth,” our LORD is speaking in terms of being used powerfully in making Him known to others, in being possessed with the same mission and power, and divine authority in His Name as He came with and perfectly fulfilled – to serve Him and others and not ourselves.
Why, for what purpose did Jesus inform us that “ALL power” is given to Him?
- To teach all peoples His Word, His ways (v19)
- To water baptize them in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost (v19)
- To teach them His Word (v20)
IF God is your Father, if you are His, “ALL things are yours” (1 Corinthians 3:21). With this truth in mind, please tell Him what you have need of! – simply “ASK and ye shall receive” (Matthew 7:7). Ask Him beloved and Jesus Christ, the Great Intercessor at the Father’s right hand, will see that it’s answered! “ALL power is given unto me in heaven and in earth” is invested in the name, the authority, the divine Person of the LORD Jesus Christ – who was crucified for our sins, defeated death, hell, the grave, and Satan! See Matthew 28:18-20.
“The veil of the temple was rent in twain”
Through Christ’s perfect sacrifice, the veil was rent in two, the curtain has been flung wide back, and the floodgates of God’s blessings were opened.
“And Jesus cried with a loud voice, and gave up the ghost. 38 And the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom.” Mark 15:37-38
The Full Assurance of Faith – Hebrews 10:19-23
“19 Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus,
20 By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;
21 And having an high priest over the house of God;
22 Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.
23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)”
“They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. 6 He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.” Psalms 126:5-6
This fallen world has never more needed Christ’s laborers, empowered by His invested divine authority, as they do now.
The Harvest Is Plentiful, the Laborers Few
“And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. 36 But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd. 37 Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; 38 Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.” Matthew 9:35-38
2 FACTS: JESUS IS STILL THE KING OF ALL KINGS, THE LORD OF ALL LORD’S AND IN FULL CONTROL OF ALL OF HIS CREATION (Colossians 1-2). The devil is STILL a liar, the father of it, and doing his evil business today – till he shall be soon vanquished into the bottomless pit (John 8:44; 1 Peter 5:8; Revelation 12:10; 20:3).
God is greater than anything you face today beloved. “ALL things are yours” because of the Lamb of God who was slain (Mark 10:27).
May we be reminded today that Jesus Christ created all that is and is the divine Sustainer of all life!
“For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: 17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. 18 And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.” Colossians 1:16-18
“All … preeminence” is to be given to and upon our LORD Jesus.
Jesus came to set and to make men free!
“If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.” John 8:36
And, any preaching or religion that does not emphasize this, has missed the mark of the divine plan…. Fallen mankind’s crisis is a SIN crisis that Jesus Christ alone can solve and that’s why He came. “Be not deceived” (Galatians 6:7-8).
“And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you. 24 Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.” John 16:23-24
From the Believer’s Bible Commentary concerning Acts 1:8:
“1:8 Having suppressed their curiosity as to the future date of this kingdom, the Lord Jesus directed their attention to what was more immediate—the nature and sphere of their mission. As to its nature, they were to be witnesses; as to its sphere, they were to witness in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.
But first they must receive power—the power of the Holy Spirit. This power is the grand indispensable of Christian witness. A man may be highly talented, intensively trained, and widely experienced, but without spiritual power he is ineffective. On the other hand, a man may be uneducated, unattractive, and unrefined, yet let him be endued with the power of the Holy Spirit and the world will turn out to see him burn for God. The fearful disciples needed power for witnessing, holy boldness for preaching the gospel. They would receive this power when the Holy Spirit came upon them.
Their witness was to begin in Jerusalem, a meaningful prearrangement of the grace of God. The very city where our Lord was crucified was first to receive the call to repentance and faith in Him.
Then Judea, the southern section of Palestine with its strong Jewish population, and with Jerusalem as its chief city.
Then Samaria, the region in the center of Palestine, with its hated, half-breed population with whom the Jews had no dealings.
Then the end of the then-known world—the Gentile countries which had hitherto been outside the pale as far as religious privilege was concerned. In this ever widening circle of witness, we have a general outline of the flow of history in Acts.
- The witness in Jerusalem (Chaps. 1-7)
- The witness in Judea and Samaria (8:1-9:31)
- The witness to the end of the earth (9:32-28:31)”
“Take heed to the ministry which thou hast received in the Lord, that thou fulfil it.” Colossians 4:17
Are you fulfilling what God has ordained and expects and holds you personally accountable to fulfill? What part are you contributing to His kingdom work – so that it can advance in the hearts of men today?

Acquaint now thyself with him, and be at peace: thereby good shall come unto thee [podcast]

Here’s why Jesus came:
“And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.” John 17:3
There is nothing – NO-THING – more important in your life than your relationship with Christ.
Job 22
“Acquaint now thyself with him, and be at peace: thereby good shall come unto thee. 22 Receive, I pray thee, the law from his mouth, and lay up his words in thine heart. 23 If thou return to the Almighty, thou shalt be built up, thou shalt put away iniquity far from thy tabernacles. 24 Then shalt thou lay up gold as dust, and the gold of Ophir as the stones of the brooks. 25 Yea, the Almighty shall be thy defence, and thou shalt have plenty of silver. 26 For then shalt thou have thy delight in the Almighty, and shalt lift up thy face unto God. 27 Thou shalt make thy prayer unto him, and he shall hear thee, and thou shalt pay thy vows. 28 Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways. 29 When men are cast down, then thou shalt say, There is lifting up; and he shall save the humble person. 30 He shall deliver the island of the innocent; and it is delivered by the pureness of thine hands.” Job 22:21-30
“lay up his words in thine heart” v22 – WITH the learning of each new verse of Holy Scripture, each new Bible truth, your knowledge and understanding of the LORD and His kingdom is expanded.
“Let thine heart retain my words.” Proverbs 4:4
“I have seen an end of all perfection: but thy commandment is exceeding broad. 97 MEM. O how love I thy law! it is my meditation all the day. 98 Thou through thy commandments hast made me wiser than mine enemies: for they are ever with me. 99 I have more understanding than all my teachers: for thy testimonies are my meditation. 100 I understand more than the ancients, because I keep thy precepts.” Psalms 119:96-100

Dwelling in the Secret Place of the Most High [podcast]

“He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.” Psalms 91:1
Of the Bible phrase “secret place of the most High”, one source notes:
“‘The secret place of the Most High’: is a spiritual state of intimacy, trust, and absolute protection in God, referenced in Psalm 91:1. It is not a physical location, but rather a hidden sanctuary found in the heart of God, accessed through prayer and a surrendered life.”
“And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.” John 17:3
Prayer communion is inseparably connected with knowing God (John 17:3).
Knowing the Father and the Son is the whole purpose for which He made you.
“That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ. 4 And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full.” 1 John 1:3-4
Beloved of God, you have a relationship with your Maker, not religion.
To know Him, we must seek Him. He promises us that as we seek Him, He will be found of us!
“if thou seek him, he will be found of thee.” 1 Chronicles 28:9
He promises to manifest Himself exclusively to those who “diligently seek him.” (1 Chronicles 16:11; John 14:21-23, etc.)
God is not hiding and yet He is not available to the casual seeker. Only those who “diligently seek him” will be known as His, will experience in real relationship with the LORD.
“But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.” Matthew 6:33
“A sinning man stops praying. A praying man stops sinning.” – Leonard Ravenhill
“And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.” Mark 1:35
Anyone not praying is not seeking God and has already fallen away (Luke 12:40).
“A glorious high throne from the beginning is the place of our sanctuary.” Jeremiah 17:12
The LORD’s people are known as His “house” and He calls them His “house of prayer.”
“And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves.” Matthew 21:13
Those who truly love and worship the LORD perpetually seek His holy face and that’s called prayer.
“Pray without ceasing.” 1 Thessalonians 5:17
“Seek his face continually”
“Seek the LORD and his strength, seek his face continually.” 1 Chronicles 16:11
Spending quality moments with God is your best time spent (Matthew 6:6).
“The preaching of the Word of the Lord fails to run and be glorified from many causes. The difficulty may lie with the preacher himself, should his outward conduct be out of harmony with the rule of the Scriptures and his own profession. The word lived must be in accord with the word delivered; the life must be in harmony with the sermon. The preacher’s spirit and behavior out of the pulpit must run parallel with the Word of the LORD spoken in the pulpit. Otherwise a man is an obstacle in the success of his own message.” E.M. Bounds, E.M. Bounds On Prayer, p. 421
“A sinning man stops praying. A praying man stops sinning.” – Leonard Ravenhill
“The men who have done mighty things for God have always been mighty in prayer, have well understood the possibilities of prayer, and made the most of these possibilities. The Son of God, the first of all and the mightiest of all, has shown us the all-potent and far reaching possibilities of prayer. Paul was mighty for because he knew, how to use, and how to get others to use, the mighty spiritual forces of prayer.” EM Bounds, The Complete Works of E.M. Bounds on Prayer, P. 341
“It has been said that no great work in literature or in science was ever wrought by a man who did not love solitude. We may lay it down as an elemental principle of religion, that no large growth in holiness was ever gained by one who did not take time to be often long alone with God.” Austin Phelps
“Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” Matthew 26:41
Can anyone possibly NOT enter into temptation who is not living a life of prayer? Not possible. If you are not living a life of prayer, praying “without ceasing,” you ARE living in sin. Wonder no more. Fresh repentance before God needed (Hosea 10:12; 14:1-2; 1 Thessalonians 5:17; Hebrews 4:14-16).
It’s the cross – where you die so Christ can be preferred, can reign in your personal daily life.
“Ye are dead and your life is hid with Christ in God.” Colossians 3:3
Lotta Prayer
Lotta Power
vs
Lil Prayer
Lil power
No such thing as an overcoming, victorious child of God who doesn’t meet daily with God in prayer communion.
Let’s read the words of our LORD Jesus again – aloud:
“Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” Matthew 26:41
PRAYER: Holy Father, I come to You now, in repentance, asking You to please forgive my self-idolatry, rebellion, pride, sinful unbelief, and prayerlessness. Please wash me clean in Thy blood dear LORD Jesus. Unite my heart to fear Thy name. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Are You Bless-able? English and Spanish [podcast]

Who is Going to be “Blessed”?
“A FAITHFUL MAN shall abound with blessings: but he that maketh haste to be rich shall not be innocent.” Proverbs 28:20
Like it or not, God has conditions to appropriate His blessings. Rebels hate this reality because they despise personal accountability, personal responsibility. Their rebellion changes nothing. Either repent, be saved, and walk humbly with Christ, or lose your soul for eternity in hell (Mark 8:34-38).
True followers of Jesus are doing the work of the Gospel, are diligent, are “not slothful,” and “inherit” “the promises” of God “through faith and patience.”
“For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister. 11 And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end: 12 That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.” Hebrews 6:10-12
In the New Testament, we don’t ever see disciples of Christ spending all kinds of time singing praise songs, numbing themselves out, etc. No, when the Holy Spirit truly fills a believer, it’s to be a witness of Christ and that person is sent out.
Jesus dwells large only in those who practically obey Him and not those just trying to get an emotional fix by soaking in a building in a “revival.”
“And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.” Joshua 24:15
Are We Bless-able?
“It is more blessed to give than to receive.” Acts 20:35
Have you given God your life?
“So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple.” Luke 14:33
