Are You Willing to do the Math and Find Out what Your Fruit Reveals?

“And were baptized of him in Jordan, confessing their sins. 7 But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come? 8 Bring forth therefore fruits meet for (consistent with) repentance: 9 And think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham. 10 And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.” Matthew 3:7-10

God not only looks on the heart – He inspects the fruit, the good fruit which can only come from a true, abiding relationship with Him (John 15:1-6). Even though the “O” word is forbidden and intention hidden by the lame modern church, OBEDIENCE is always found in the life of the abiding, Heaven-bound saint (Matthew 7:21; John 14:15; 15:14; James 1:22; 1 John 2:3-6; 5:3; Revelation 2:26, etc.).

“Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.” Matthew 7:19

TODAY IS NO DIFFERENT THAN THE DAYS IN WHICH THE PROPHET HAGGAI SPOKE BY THE SPIRIT OF GOD TO THE PEOPLE WHO WERE SUPPOSED TO KNOW HIM. GOD’S WORK LIES UNDONE TODAY DUE TO THE SELF-SERVING, SELF-ABSORBTION AND SELF-WORSHIP OF MANY OF THOSE WHO CLAIM TO KNOW HIM.

Haggai 1 is the record of God’s severe rebuke of His people who dwelled in their luxurious ceiled houses while His kingdom went un-built. Have you read that chapter lately?

Do we not see the same thing today? Those claiming to be saved and good church attenders will follow along with the church program as long as it doesn’t require change – true repentance – the laying down of their lives without reserve. But today the local churches (nearly all of them) are manned by spineless moral cowards who refuse to die to self themselves much less teach what Jesus taught about such being a condition for following Him (Luke 9:23-24).

“HOW MANY BOAST AS FOLLOWERS OF CHRIST, YET NEVER GIVE NOR DENY THEMSELVES OF EVEN AN IOTA OF ANYTHING, AND REBEL AGAINST IT IN ALL GREED AND SELFISHNESS TO THIS DAY. THEY’D RATHER INVERT THE CROSS THAN BEAR ANY BURDEN TO CARRY IT.” KEITH HARGRAVE

Diminishing returns were coming to the people of God in Haggai’s day for neglecting building His house – doing the Great Commission. Check out this intriguing portion of Holy Scripture:

“Is it time for you, O ye, to dwell in your cieled houses, and this house lie waste? 5 Now therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts; Consider your ways. 6 Ye have sown much, and bring in little; ye eat, but ye have not enough; ye drink, but ye are not filled with drink; ye clothe you, but there is none warm; and he that earneth wages earneth wages to put it into a bag with holes. 7 Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Consider your ways. 8 Go up to the mountain, and bring wood, and build the house; and I will take pleasure in it, and I will be glorified, saith the LORD. 9 Ye looked for much, and, lo, it came to little; and when ye brought it home, I did blow upon it. Why? saith the LORD of hosts. Because of mine house that is waste, and ye run every man unto his own house. 10 Therefore the heaven over you is stayed from dew, and the earth is stayed from her fruit. 11 And I called for a drought upon the land, and upon the mountains, and upon the corn, and upon the new wine, and upon the oil, and upon that which the ground bringeth forth, and upon men, and upon cattle, and upon all the labour of the hands.” Haggai 1:4-11

Has anything changed? No. – “There is no new thing under the sun.” (Ecclesiastes 1:9)

ARE YOU WILLING TO TEST YOUR LIFE AS IT NOW IS IN ORDER TO PREVENT A SURPRISE LATER?

The root sins of Sodom were “pride, fulness of bread (earthly wealth), and abundance of idleness.”(Ezekiel 16:49-51) Doesn’t that sound like the Laodicean’s who had forfeited their place with God and were going to be spewed – sent to hell?

“I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. 16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. 17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked (undone): 18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see. 19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.” Revelation 3:15-19

If Christ said they had to “repent” it is because they were in danger of hell fire. This command to repent clearly means that they were not ready to meet Him. Why not? Why did Jesus say they were going to be rejected (spued)? – “Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked.“ (Revelation 3:17)

IF in your mind you rate people by what they have or don’t have in this fleeting sinful world, you are deeply deceived and in utter need of repentance and the washing of water by the Word of God. You are carnal minded (Romans 8:5-6).

What about the once “rich man” who refused to render aid to Lazarus? See Luke 16:19-31.

What was Jesus Christ’s stated reason that the once rich man went to hell? WHY did God send Him to hell?

“But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime (earthly) receivedst thy good things (he was rich before), and likewise Lazarus evil things (Lazarus was poor on earth): but NOW he is comforted, and thou art tormented.” Luke 16:26

If you deny that there is a direct correlation between the way we spend our money and our true spiritual state, you are denying Christ and calling the Son of God a liar.

The crux here is – Give now or burn forever. Yes, give your life now or it will soon be too late. If your life were given over to Christ (essential for salvation), your trinkets and treasures would be Christ’s and you would freely and generously give them to those individual believers in need and to the work of the Gospel. The reason you don’t freely give them now is that you are not given over to the LORD truly and therefore not ready to meet Him. You have not truly repented by the Bible definition and the greedy, hoarding, covetous fruit your life bears clearly testifies to such a lost state (Matthew 3:7-10).

“Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.” 1 John 3:7

You must choose: Which life would you rather suffer in? – This one or the next (eternal one)?  Is it time to pluck out the eye and cut off the hand of soul-damning covetousness, greed, hoarding, and self-worship? (Mark 9:43-49)

Who Are You Rich Toward? – God or Self?

“And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth. 16 And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully: 17 And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits? 18 And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods. 19 And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry. 20 But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided? 21 So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.” Luke 12:15-21

Those who don’t give to the work of Christ and the body of Christ in need do not do so because they are too busy serving the god they really serve – sinful self (Philippians 3:18-19).

— CONCERNING THE MODERN COUNTERFEIT WHO HAS ONLY A MERE “FORM OF GODLINESS”YET DENIES THE “POWER” OR AUTHORITY OF CHRIST TO REIGN OVER HIS INDIVIDUAL DAILY LIFE AND DECISIONS (2 TIMOTHY 3:5). ……—- THEIR FANCY COFFEES ARE MORE IMPORTANT TO THEM THAN IS CHRIST. DO SOME MATH: $3.50 X 30 DAYS PER MONTH = $105 PER MONTH AND THEY GIVE LESS THAN THAT TO CHRIST’S WORK. THEIR SPORT DRINKS, JUNK FOOD AND SOFT DRINKS, THEIR MUST-HAVE NEW APPLIANCES AND AUTOMOBILES, AND HOUSING IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN THE LOST SOULS JESUS BLED TO SAVE. DO THE MATH – $50-150 IN CABLE TV OR SATELLITE AND GOD’S WORK GETS A MERE TIP IF ANYTHING. YET THEY CLAIM TO KNOW HIM WHO SAID THAT HE CAME “TO SEEK AND TO SAVE THAT WHICH WAS LOST.” (LUKE 19:10) MANY OTHER EXAMPLES CAN BE USED HERE. WASTE, WASTE, WASTE! WASTED LIFE AND WASTED SUBSTANCE. WITHOUT HESITATION, THESE DECEIVED SPRING FOR ENTERTAINMENT, UNNEEDED VEHICLES, CLOTHING, AND JUNK FOOD. THEY SPEND MORE MONEY ON PET FOOD THAN ON CHRIST WHO GAVE THEM THAT MONEY (1 CHRONICLES 29:14; JAMES 1:17). WITHOUT INVITATION THEY IMPULSE BUY WITHOUT HESITATION. THEY SEE THE BAG OF CHIPS AND HEALTH-DESTROYING SOFT DRINKS AND GRAB THEM. THERE’S NO HESITATION AND YET, WHEN THEY ARE PRESENTED WITH THE OPPORTUNITY TO GIVE TO THE ONLY ETERNAL WORK IN THE EARTH – THE WORK OF THE ONE THEY CLAIM TO BE SERVING – THEY SPURN THAT PRIVILEGE. YET, AS THEY WATCH DIVINELY CALLED OUT GOSPEL WORKER STRUGGLING TO EXIST, THEY SCOFF AT AND ACCUSE THOSE FEW LABORERS OF JUST BEING “IN IT FOR THE MONEY.”

“Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: 20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: 21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” Matthew 6:19-21

If our treasure is in the things of Christ, it’s because that’s where our hearts are – and vice versa.

You’re going to spend your life and energy doing something. Should it not be that which holds eternal value? Isn’t everything else waste? Why waste your time and energy in this brief life on temporal trinkets and pursuits?

God addresses rich Christians, instructing them to be generous, and yet He makes it clear that no disciple of Christ should desire to be rich or pursue the riches of this fleeting world. He warns that great peril and the danger of eternal damnation lie in such a trap. Read 1 Timothy 6:3-17. | Riches

Is it a sin to be rich in this world? No. He does say that it’s essential to be “rich toward God” or hell awaits (Luke 12:15-21; 16:19-31; Ephesians 5:6-9, etc.).

The LORD gives instruction to the rich Christian men in (1 Timothy 6:17-20).

“God never said being rich was a sin what He did say was The Love Of Money was the sin. It is not how much you have it is what you do with it. Are you using it for God”s purpose or your own? When we use it for the purpose of God’s needs and his sheep you are using what you have for His purpose. KJV Acts 20:35 – I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive. Matthew 25:40 says ‘And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.'”

Eternal hell awaits the wicked who like the “certain rich man.” Why? Well he previously had the opportunity to help righteous and poor Lazarus and yet refused. There was no do over. He got no second chance but rather went straight to hell the instant he died (Luke 16:19-31).  He has a person right under his nose to help as many of us do today. He chose to be rich unto himself and not “rich toward God.” (Luke 12:15-21)

Someone might be thinking “You mean I’m going to hell if I don’t give? How dare you insinuate such!”

Please allow me to correct you so there’s no misunderstanding: Not only am I insinuating it, I am telling you that you are absolutely bound for hell if you have not given your life to Christ. If your life was given over to Christ, the fruit of your life would clearly reflect a God-fearing stewardship of your time and talents. You’d already be giving to His work and to those in need.

At this point, your temporary treasures are being spent on yourself – the god you really serve. – “For where your treasure is, THERE will your heart be also.” (Matthew 6:19-21)

Remember that like the once rich man in Luke 16 who died and went to hell, in the end not one soul will be afforded the opportunity to do a redo – to give their way out of hell.

In Luke 16 Jesus told us the story of a “certain rich man” in order to warn us before we follow that man’s wicked ways and go where he went.

That now eternally tormented, previously rich man, would do anything to go back and give his life and treasures to Christ but it’s too late. His destiny is signed, sealed, delivered. He even begged to have someone go preach God’s Word to his five brothers so they wouldn’t come to that horrible place of fiery incarceration. His window of grace is gone but ours isn’t.

Just what earthly possession, treasure, or money is worth going to eternal damnation over?

The way we are currently stewarding the monies in our possession is a direct reflection of the true priorities of our heart.

Concerning those who have rejected the Messiah for the god of mammon, one sister in Christ notes:

Warning and Description of the American “Christian”

“And he lifted up his eyes on his disciples, and said, Blessed be ye poor: for yours is the kingdom of God. 21 Blessed are ye that hunger now: for ye shall be filled. Blessed are ye that weep now: for ye shall laugh. 22 Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man’s sake. 23 Rejoice ye in that day, and leap for joy: for, behold, your reward is great in heaven: for in the like manner did their fathers unto the prophets. 24 But woe unto you that are rich! for ye have received your consolation. 25 Woe unto you that are full! for ye shall hunger. Woe unto you that laugh now! for ye shall mourn and weep.” Luke 6:20-25

After reading these words from Jesus, should Christians be living lives of lavishness or minimalism in this fleeting life?

Are we here to be entrenched in this worlds goods or to spread the Good News of Jesus and to teach His Word to all men (Matthew 28:18-20; Mark 16:15). As those He has found and saved and made new creatures in Christ, whose “ambassadors” are we to be? (2 Corinthians 5:17-20) If we are Christ’s “ambassadors,” why would we gather things to ourselves in this sinful fallen world when He Himself did no such thing while He walked this earth?

In God’s kingdom there are goers and senders. If your primary calling from God is to work and make money, that means you are a sender of the “few” “labourers” Jesus told us to pray for God to send out (Matthew 9:35-39). That’s why you have a job or a business –“Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, THAT he may have to give to him that needeth.”(Ephesians 4:28) That is, that he may have money to give to needy Christians and to Christ’s work which is always in need of support.

He has sent out into the “plenteous” “harvest” a “few” “labourers.” (Matthew 9:35-39) Are you personally supporting Jesus’ “labourers”? No, the question is not “Are you giving to your local church because they convinced you that they are the storehouse?” Most of your money given there is a waste and actually helps the wolves who run those church businesses. You are fueling the devil’s agents in most cases by doing so (2 Corinthians 11:12-15; 2 John 7-11). How do we know they are wolves? Simple: They are not fulfilling Christ’s New Testament edict and purpose to preach the Gospel to the lost and teach all men God’s Word – in other words, get them into God’s Word for themselves, daily (Matthew 28:18-20; Mark 16:15; 1 Timothy 4:6, 16, etc.).

WE SHOULD STOP FUNDING THE WOLVES WHO ARE CHRIST’S ENEMIES AND USE THEIR POSITION AND PLATFORM AND PERSONALITIES TO BRAND THEIR OWN MINISTRY BUSINESS. HAS ANYONE EVER BECOME FAMILIAR WITH THE MARKETING TERM “BRANDING”? IT’S WHERE A COMPANY CREATES A NAME, LOGO, AND SLOGAN THAT IT BRANDS (BURNS) INTO THE MINDS, THE PSYCHE OF THE PEOPLE IN ORDER TO GET THEM TO PATRONIZE THEIR BUSINESS.

YEAH, YOU SEE, THEY REFUSE TO USE THE MONIES GIVEN INTO THEIR COFFERS TO SIMPLY PUT FORTH CHRIST’S KINGDOM WORD AND TO PREACH CHRIST ALONE LIKE THE EARLY CHURCH DID (ACTS 5:42). INSTEAD THEY HAVE TO PUT THEIR OWN PERSONAL NAME OR MINISTRY’S NAME ON IT IN ORDER TO GET GLORY FOR AND TO THEMSELVES! RED FLAG! READ PSALMS 74 AND SEE HOW THEY HAVE CAST DOWN CHRIST’S NAME AND ENTHRONED THEIR OWN NAME/“ENSIGNS”!   NOTICE HOW THESE INDIVIDUALS AND MINISTRIES REFUSE TO RELEASE A PENNY OF THOSE MONIES TO ANYTHING THAT DOESN’T PROMOTE THEIR OWN CAUSE/NAME. WAKE UP AND STOP FUNDING CHRIST’S ENEMIES LEST YOU BE ETERNALLY JUDGED WITH THEM! (2 PETER 2:1-3)

Then, Satan’s children, who claim to be saved, will accuse Christ’s true servant of being in it for the money. If this wasn’t so foolish it would be a roll on the floor screaming hilarity! As a called-out servant, if I was in it for the money I wouldn’t be in it because there is no money!

YOU MUST SEE YOUR WORKING AND GIVING AS A VITAL MINISTRY TO THE LORD’S BLESSED KINGDOM. IT IS JUST AS EQUALLY VITAL AS THOSE WHO GO AND DO THE WORK. THEY CANNOT DO SUCH IF YOU DON’T DO YOUR PART.

It is YOUR privilege to give of what God gives you. You need to give in worship to the LORD more than those few good ministries need the money. Concerning the Philippians believers giving, Paul the apostle said “Not because I desire a gift: but I desire fruit that may abound to your account.” (Philippians 4:17) You see, you have an “account” in Heaven and to refuse to give the opportunity to give would be to cheat God’s people about of riches in their eternal “account” where Jesus commanded us to lay up treasure! (Matthew 6:19-21)

WHO DO YOU THINK WINS WHEN CHRIST’S CALLED-OUT SERVANTS ARE LEFT STARVING AND CAN’T PAY BASIC BILLS? IS GOD GLORIFIED OR HAS SATAN TRIUMPHED TO DISTRACT AND INCAPACITATE ONE OF JESUS’ “LABOURERS”? THE ANSWER IS OBVIOUS. WHOSE FAULT IS THAT? IT’S THE FAULT AND SIN OF THOSE WHO ARE BEING FED BY THAT MINISTRY.

We must not waste the monies God is putting in our hands on temporal comforts and trinkets. We must change our way of living and demonstrate that we are content to know Him and need no excessive stuff, things, trinkets to satisfy us. He is our satisfaction.

Nothing’s ever enough to American “Christians.” They are in big trouble spiritually and have no idea.

Ever notice how happy the African children are? Why? After all they have one toy to share between a whole village of children. Why are our electronic-inundated children so unhappy?

You must see your money as being a provision from God and a tool to further Christ’s Gospel by funding His workers.

WITHOUT YOUR MONEY FUELING THE GOSPEL WORKERS GOD HAS SHOWN YOU, THEY WILL NOT BE ABLE TO DO WHAT HE HAS CALLED THEM OUT TO DO AND YOU WILL BE PERSONALLY ACCOUNTABLE FOR SUCH.

Your calling may be to work and that means you are earning money that is to be firstly given to “honour” of the One who gave you the ability to earn that money.

“Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase: 10 So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.” Proverbs 3:9-10

Holy Father, please bless us to have the joy of giving once again, in Jesus’ precious Name, amen!

But someone must actually DO HIS work and it’s the LORD alone who calls them out. There are goers and senders (Romans 10:14-15). And those around those divinely called-out ones are to rejoice to be blessed to support them – because they are doing GOD’s work. In fact the Bible says we are to honor His servants “for their work’s sake.” Why? – Because it’s God’s work, not man’s.

“And to esteem them very highly in love for their work’s sake. And be at peace among yourselves.” 1 Thessalonians 5:13

“Woe unto you that are rich!” (Luke 6:24)

ALL Americans are “rich” in God’s eyes. This is the richest country in world history. Woe be unto us! – if we refuse to be generous and continual in our giving.

“Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy; 18 That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate; 19 Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.” 1 Timothy 6:17-19

Those who have and are learning the joy of giving as Jesus taught, always rejoice to be able to give out of what He has given them and even long for more to be given them so they can give more to His work.

It has been perhaps rightly state that “Those who give the least complain the most.”

The SELF-preservationists complains with a contrary attitude toward those called out to minister. The self-serving, unrepentant church goer does not want his little personal party interrupted. So he figure that the Gospel worker should leave the post God put him on and go out and earn his own money – never realizing that if we are truly the LORD’s all we have is HIS and not ours (1 Chronicles 29:14). The counterfeit reasons that he’s too busy spending his money on self’s pleasure and status in this sinful world, and refuses to live a minimalistic lifestyle in order for Christ’s Gospel workers to be able to do His work in furthering His Gospel by winning lost souls and teaching them God’s Word. “You are inconveniencing me” he reasons in his mind. “You are taking away from my self serving creature comforts. God forbid that anything my depraved heart so desires be kept from me. When I see something I want, I just buy it or put it on credit. And I don’t appreciate people asking for money (for a ministry work).”

“ACTUALLY WHEN I USED TO BE ONE OF THOSE FANCY COFFEE DRINKERS THEY USED TO COST CLOSER TO FIVE DOLLARS PER CUP. I STILL DRINK COFFEE BUT AT HOME NOW.” MELANIE G.

Coffee is a blessing, from God it seems. Yet does having a nice hot cup of coffee in the morning have to cost $3-5 per cup per day? That’s a considerable amount of money per month. 30 days in a month x $4 is $120. Many who waste God’s money on such give far less to the work of Jesus. God is calling us to repent. This is pure rebellion.

Your money is not really yours – it’s God’s.

What are you doing with His money for which you shall give account?

“ALL things come of thee and of THINE own have we given thee.” 1 Chronicles 29:14

There are a myriad of ways “Christians” today waste God’s money. God forbid that they have to be humiliated by driving a 10 year old car. God forbid that the style of their dish washer or refrigerator is outdated. God forbid that they have to be deprived of any luxury item their little hearts desire!

I know of a ministry that was derailed due to a lack of about $300-400 per month. There was support but not quite enough which means that God was leading others to help support that ministry and yet they refused. They were too busy wasting God’s money in this sinful world – embellishing themselves with even more shoes, clothes, fancies accessories, expensive meals, etc.  These  refused to do their part in supporting Jesus’ work due to their waste on self and they will give account for those servants of Christ who cannot do what He called them to do due to their disobedience. Those greedy people who claim to know Christ and yet refused to lay down their lives in this sinful world will stand to give account for the souls that went to eternal damnation due to not being able to hear the Gospel through the LORD’s servants who had to leave their post.

These type people want to over spiritualize things when they are called to truly lay down their lives in this fleeting world. Yet, the same folk do not hesitate to call a number or do an internet search to buy some frivolous accessory that has no eternal value. God forbid that they be bothered with the opportunity to support Christ’s work.

They want to live in denial of the obvious fact that if those God-called Gospel workers aren’t being provided for (financially supported), they cannot do Christ’s work and that means souls will be hell due to their rebellion. In other words, they defend their right to live their lives on their own terms all the while deceiving themselves into thinking God will save them in the end.

As a kingdom disciple, you must see this as your part in fulfilling the Great Commission for which you shall give account before the Almighty on Judgment Day.

Covetousness is idolatry of self – the worship of self instead of the Savior. This is a soul-damning sin. See below:

“For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. 6 Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience. 7 Be not ye therefore partakers with them.” Ephesians 5:5-7

Of being minimalistic and appreciative, one sister notes:

“I learned that being with the Lord I have all I need. He has blessed me with all things. The most important thing to me – what I want most is to hear Him say – is ‘well done my good and faithful servant.’ With what He has given me I invest in his kingdom. So thankful for the life He has given me.” Lisa V.

You know as I read this sister’s words it occurs to me that we just push ourselves further from Christ and from knowing Him more intimately by crowding and cluttering our lives with more stuff. The Bible says that the LORD Jesus is our “exceeding great reward.”(Genesis 15:1) If we have Christ, we have all! If we truly have Christ reigning in our lives, we do not covet stuff but are rather content.

“Let your conversation (your way of life) be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.” Hebrews 13:5

Yes, and yet there is great jeopardy in not using what He gives us for His glory … the servant who buried/wasted his talent went to hell – “And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth (hell).” Matt 25:30 ….. Not giving, hoarding, clearly indicates/reveals where someone’s heart is and that they are serving mammon, not God and are therefore not saved. ….. this is the case with most who claim to be saved. They have not laid down their lives and this is obvious in that they have time, money, energy, and all the wherewithal to go lusting after this world’s trinkets and spend all they have to get them …. and yet do not find it in their unrepentant hearts to lay down their lives and give. They are lost while thinking they are saved. Laodicea. This is not small matter. It reveals they are lost and as sure for eternal damnation as if they were already there. We cannot factor our Christ’s clear teachings due to Paul’s….. perhaps the way to reconcile this paradox (seeming contradiction) is to observe the audience each is speaking to. 2 Cor. 9 is written to the church at Corinth where true believers where being addressed and incentivized to give and lay up treasure in Heaven. Jesus taught this also (Matthew 6:19-24). The Son of God also clearly taught that eternal hell awaited those who are not generous with what HE puts in their temporal possession. This is Jesus’ teaching. It seems severe because so few truly forsake their lives in this world. Yet this is exactly what Jesus taught and He clearly stated that eternal hell is the finality of this self-serving, lukewarm, disobedient, rebellious lifestyle. They must repent and when they truly do, all they have will be His …in their minds and distribution of it.

Jesus taught that the way we steward His resources that He puts in our hands is a direct reflection of the priorities of our hearts (Matt. 6:19-24).

Anyone not purposing to give at all into Christ’s eternal kingdom by helping the poor and funding His work, seems to reveal their lost, apostate (backslidden) state….. “Ye shall know (discern) them by their fruits” Matt 7:16, 20

Beware of the “Intercessors” [podcast]

What could possibly sound more innocent than an intercessory prayer group, right?

Intercessory Prayer Witches Warning: There were no special “intercessory prayer groups” or special “intercessors” in the early church. Jesus is the Great Intercessor! (Hebrews 7:25) The Intercessor spoken about and revealed in the New Testament is Jesus Christ – not Satan’s infiltrating witches who claim to be special “intercessors”! Beware!

Recently, a woman claiming and announcing herself to be “an intercessory prayer warrior for 30 years” sent me a welcome DM. Here’s the reply she was sent:

There’s no such thing as an “intercessory prayer warrior” designated or appointed in the New Testament body of Christ. That premise is a bunch of witchcraft used by satan’s jezebels to infiltrate and destroy among God’s people. Repent now.

Saints, this is how they gain a stronghold, how they get their evil foot in the door. They must be rejected, turned away, called to repent. They witches are self-appointed and pretend to have special power in prayer with God. But we know that’s a lie because Jesus informed us that the Father answers the prayers of His people in Jesus’ name. Jesus says where 2 or more are gathered in His name right – there He is (Matthew 18:18-20). And the power is in HIS name in salvation, prayer, and everything in His kingdom – and not because some witches got together to offer their incantations! John 14:13-14; 16:23-24

“Every woman I have come across that professes to be some special anointed prayer intercessor has turned out to be exactly what you’re describing. And they are usually rooted in NAR theology. My antennas always go up now when someone identifies as an intercessor. We all pray “intercessory” prayers when we pray for others. But I agree, there is no such thing as a intercessor anointing or anything like that. It freaks me out now after what I have experienced with these people.” Khrista

Exactly, there are many gifts and callings in the New Testament and not one of them is “intercesory prayer warrior” nor any such thing. I’ve found the same thing also…. they are all witches, infilitrating to destroy (Revelation 2:20-24). Jesus says where 2 or more are gathered in His name right….. and the power is in HIS name in salvation, prayer, and everything in His kingdom – and not because some witches got together to incantate! John 14:13-14; 16:23-24

“I will do a new thing” … what does that refer to? What does it not refer to?

One of the ways the witches and warlocks of today’s modern church world trick people to give up their eternal souls by following false doctrine, false systems of theology, false movements, etc., is to misuse, to use out of context, one portion of a sentence from Isaiah 43:19. They springboard of this phrase and then teach things the Bible never sanctions. One example of something not seen in the New Testament canon, in the earliest followers of Christ, is an “intercessory prayer group” and especially not one run by women, with no male elder overseer – which is a recipe for disaster.

The prophetic frauds of today’s modern church use the “I will do a new thing” phrase in Isaiah 43:19 to justify and trick people. Once they front with that “I will do a new thing” statement, then they bring in heresies. Yet we know that any “new thing” the unchanging God is doing, is not going to contradict His own Word.

“Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.” Isaiah 43:19 

Scripture says that “ALL scripture is given by inspiration of God” and is given to us, “ALL” of it “for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.” (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

“The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.” (Isaiah 40:8) Oh and “For I am the LORD, I change not.” (Malachi 3:6) And “Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.” (Mark 13:31) And “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.” (Hebrews 13:8)

“Prayer warrior” is not a calling listed in Scripture that is reserved for a few select, “anointed” who “bind” evil spirits in their “calling.” They are misled and illegitimate. EVERY saint of Christ is called to pray daily, perpetually for the members of Christ’s body, etc.

Most of the time, when you see someone claiming to be a “prayer warrior”, they are full of false teaching about prayer as this comes out of the grossly heretical NAR and Word of Faith movements, the same warlocks who have “intercessory prayer” groups.

Beware of the self-appointed intercessors. Beware of the intercessory witchcraft. Have you ever noticed that these self-appointed “prayer warriors” otherwise known as official “intercessors,” never ground you in the Word of God, the cross, the crucified life, as Paul did Timothy and Titus? (2 Timothy 2:15; 3:15-17; Titus 2:1) Instead, they entice and allure you to flatter you with the idea that you are gifted, you are special, and you’re needing to start a the church and you’re the man of the hour, etc. They flatter your flesh is what they are doing and causing, positioning you to become dependent on them, not God, not the Word of God. Therefore they stay upon their prey with regular phone calls and sessions in order to manipulate and control them. God says this is witchcraft.

What they do is deceive their prey to believe the lie that they have special power and access to God.

Today we see SO much pride-filled witchcraft going on in the name of “prayer warriors” and special “intercessors”. Personally I am learning to stay clear of the “prayer warrior” terminology and those who claim they are such, etc. Seems to lift up us, the mere pray-ers, and not Him and leads to pride in people as they boast of themselves, that they get prayers answered or that their prayers and calling is more important than others. Nonsense! Prayers are answered on one basis – the blood, the cross, the name of Jesus Christ. Any and every child of God can pray in the name of Jesus and God will answer it based on the righteousness of His only begotten Son, not some “powerful prayer warrior” or self-appointed  “intercessor” witch (John 14:13-14; 16:23-24) | Why Does God Answer Prayer? On What Basis?

Beware that in any “prayer group” all it takes is for just one of those members to introduce a sugar-coated stealth request or attitude and the whole group is influenced. The course and direction of that group will be off target from that time forward. This is why many a disciple has and is learning to keep things down to a simple minimum void of the “need” or false obligation to join in with any and every “prayer group” that comes along.

The key is joining with one or two or so believers who are truly Christ-centered, biblical, crucified with Christ, teachable, humble, broken, and sincerely seeking the face of the LORD.

Like any cult type manipulation and control, these self-appointed “intercessors” wield their witchcraft over their prey by constantly having a word for them, by being their source. What the enemy is using them to do is to displace their prey from being one with Christ, in His Word, hearing His voice for themselves, and following Him as He, their Great Shepherd, is leading them (John 10; Hebrews 13:20).

Jesus says His sheep hear HIS voice and they follow Him and not other (John 10).

The primary way God leads His New Testament church, people, is via His written Word.

“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” 2 Timothy 2:15

“And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. 16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.” 2 Timothy 3:15-17

The LORD’s way is to train men through long seasons of learning and suffering and obeying the Word of God. He warns us about laying hands suddenly on no man, of partaking in ordaining a novice into the ministry (1 Timothy 3:16; 5:22).

There’s no such thing in Christ’s New Testament church as special “intercessors” or special intercessory prayer groups, especially not run by women. It’s a jezebel recipe for wicked women to manipulate the pastor and direction of that “church.” This can only function, happen where there’s an Ahab, a spineless moral coward “pastor” allowing it (Revelation 2:20-24).

“Now I beseech you, brethren, for the Lord Jesus Christ’s sake, and for the love of the Spirit, that ye strive together with me in your prayers to God for me;” Romans 15:30

Interceding in prayer, simply praying for another person, is according to Holy Scripture, yes, yet intercessory prayer groups of all women, not overseen by male elders, is a recipe for jezebel disaster.

BEWARE OF THE INTERCESSORY PRAYER WITCHES! Satan loves to use that which sounds noble and spiritual and yet is not biblical. And it’s not biblical for a good reason. God’s Divine wisdom. To protect His body. Let’s stay with the Word saints! 

THERE is lots of witchcraft going on in the name of intercessory prayer and spiritual warfare. THINK: Just what did Jesus do when combating the devil? He simply quoted GOD’s written Word which is final divine authority! (Matthew 4) It’s time to wise up and cease being led around by the nose by warlocks posing as Christ’s ministers! Are believers in Christ to pray together? Yes.

“Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. 20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.” Matthew 18:19-20

Believers are to pray to the Father in Jesus’ name, individually and in praying with other of God’s people (John 14:13-14; 16:23-24). This post is a warning that involves out of control jezebels who wield witchcraft behind the guise of being an intercessory prayer group.

When we hear or read “spiritual warfare” teachings today, we must ask: Do we see anyone doing that in Scripture? So much of what is pawned off today as “spiritual warfare” is actually witchcraft.

Even the sending out prayers and breaking this and that over people can be witchcraft….. much of what is called “spiritual warfare” today in the apostate modern church is actually “spiritual witchcraft.” God will not deliver any person who will not turn their heart toward Him in real repentance (2 Corinthians 3:14-16; James 4:7). We should simply ask God in Jesus’ name and trust Him to do things and stay clear of adding to that simple Scriptural prescription. “Let your requests be made know unto God.” (Philippians 4:6)

“WITCHCRAFT” is on the list of soul damning sins (Galatians 5:19-21). Witchcraft, in its basic definition means to preside over, to exercise control over. It’s simply when man takes control, in place of God. Cross-less. See Isaiah 14:12-15 and 1 Samuel 15:22-23.

No sinful human is qualified to make intercession for mankind and so God gave us Himself, the Word, the only begotten Son of God!

“And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.” Ezekiel 22:30

The Great, Divine INTERCESSOR, Our Savior Jesus!

The word “intercessor” appears one time in God’s Word and is prophetically, specifically speaking of Christ. And, it says no man could be that “intercessor.”

“And he saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor: therefore his arm brought salvation unto him; and his righteousness, it sustained him.” Isaiah 59:16

The word “intercession” appears 9 times in God’s Word and primarily, especially in the New Testament specifically speaks of Christ’s perfect sacrifice and therefore intercession for His people on earth.

“Any time you pray for someone, you are ‘interceding’ for them. Guess we’d all better stop praying for others!”

Christ Makes Intercession for His Saints

“Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he (Christ) hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and (Jesus) made intercession for the transgressors.” Isaiah 53:12

“Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.” Romans 8:34

“Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.” Hebrews 7:25

HINT: Beware when a so-called “intercessory prayer group” (no such thing in Scripture) talks about everything and everyone EXCEPT THE GREAT INTERCESSOR HIMSELF – JESUS! (Hebrews 7:24-26, etc.). Or, more deceptively, they use His Word for things not clearly spelled out in His will/Word. Beware. Be grounded in Christ saints.

The Divine Holy Spirit Intercedes for Believers

“Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. 27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.” Romans 8:26-27

Modern self-proclaimed “intercessors” busted and exposed!

Next time you meet a self-proclaimed “intercessor,” ask them to show you the calling for such in the Bible – other than that each and every believer, through JESUS CHRIST, is to go to the Father in the name of the one Great Intercessor – Jesus Christ (John 14:13-14; 16:23-24; 1 Timothy 2:5; Hebrews 4:14-16; 7:24-25).

To say there are special intercessors in the body of Christ is to say:

  1. That God forgot to tell us of something important in His Word, namely that there are to be special intercessors,
  2. That Jesus, the real Intercessor, is not central to the Christian faith, knowing God, and
  3. That each and every individual believer doesn’t have full access to the throne of God via the blood of Jesus Christ (Hebrews 4:14-16).

There’s no such thing as a “prophetic intercessor” in the New Testament church. Such is a title used today in the NAR (New Apostolic Reformation) movement for delusional witches!

Anyone who’s trying to control someone else is doing so because they’re not giving control of their own life over to God (James 4:7). This is called “witchcraft” in God’s Word and is a soul damning sin (Galatians 5:19-21).

The LORD avenges us of our enemies only when we submit to Him (James 4:7).

As long as we are not truly submitted to the LORD, Satan is in control of our lives. Memorize James 4:7.

“Praise ye the LORD for the avenging of Israel, when the people willingly offered themselves.” Judges 5:2 

“Willingly” offering ourselves is spoken of in Romans 12:

“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” Romans 12:1-2

Modern self-appointed “intercessors” are not submitted to God and are therefore under the power of the enemy.

Recently, in a conversation with a lady, she boasted that she’d been an intercessor for 30 years. What immediately comes to my mind is not a good image. If you’ve been in the charismatic movement and have since had your eyes opened, you know how this witchcraft works. The “intercessors” in these churches are basically witches who pray for what THEY want to see come to pass and since they are under the control of the “prince of the power of the air,” the devil, it’s Satan’s will being instituted and prayed for! Beware!

“Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.” 2 Corinthians 2:11

The Bible informs us that the devil is a liar, he is our enemy, and he “as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.” (John 8:44; 2 Corinthians 2:11)

“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:” 1 Peter 5:8

The enemy of souls uses things as fronts that seem to be honorable, noble, or logical on the surface yet that are not sanctioned in Scripture. There are many gifts and callings listed in Scripture and yet there is no record of the special calling of an “intercessor.” Also, we see no “intercessory prayer groups” in the early church. There were none.

The next time you meet someone who says they are an “intercessor,” ask them to qualify that so-called calling with Scripture alone. Keep reading….

Personally, I’ve never met someone who calls themself an “intercessor” who wasn’t deceived or outside the un-biblical New Apostolic Reformation or charismaniac movement.

Jesus warned us of and taught on jezebel and the destruction that comes as a result of allowing such! Revelation 2:20-24

Regrettably, nearly without fail, women who call themselves “intercessors” are jezebels and in many cases part of jezebel ministries. The men who call themselves “intercessors” are without fail Ahabs which means they are dangerous, weak, jezebel enablers.

Lemuel’s mother taught him: “Give not thy strength unto women, nor thy ways to that which destroyeth kings.” Proverbs 31:3

YOU be the man. Study and know what God has made you for and requires of you as a man who is the servant of Christ.

Jezebel’s cannot and will not function where there is no Ahab but rather godly men who refuse to be moved off of truth! (Revelation 2:20-24)

“Intercessors” and “Intercessory Prayer Groups” in Today’s Church are the Manifestation of Jezebel!

Jesus’ warning in Revelation 2 about jezebel in the New Testament comes into focus. Notice that Christ say that she “calleth herself a prophetess.” She is self-appointed and self-important.

“Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols. 21 And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not. 22 Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds. 23 And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works. 24 But unto you I say, and unto the rest in Thyatira, as many as have not this doctrine, and which have not known the depths of Satan, as they speak; I will put upon you none other burden.” Revelation 2:20-24

Weak men, Ahabs, are guilty of allowing Jezebels to function and many times using the noble title of an “intercessor.” Charismatic churches are rampant with this evil witchcraft.

ANY person who puts their own supposed calling before the truth of God and body of Christ is completely self-serving and has no concern for the LORD or His body whatsoever. In fact, such a person is completely departed from the LORD and will bring great destruction on the body of Christ if allowed – if suffered. This is exactly what Jesus addresses in Thyatira and calls it “the depths of SATAN” himself (Revelation 2:20-24). In their self-deceived hearts, they are sure that God has called them to minister in a way He clearly forbids – just like the Jezebel who was allowed by the Ahabs in Thyatira who was self-appointed – “calleth HERSELF a prophetess.” (Revelation 2:20-24) Repent now.

“For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. 24 Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.” Ephesians 5:23-24

Out of God’s order is out of God’s order. If God calls man to be the head, and He non-negotiably does, that means that MEN bear that personal responsibility for which they will be judged.

This is the same diabolical ploy to steal the glory of Christ we see played out over and over again…. the spirit of antichrist.

Counterfeits are known in that they refuse to uphold JESUS as the “Head” of His body!

“Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind, 19 And not holding the Head, from which all the body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered, and knit together, increaseth with the increase of God.” Colossians 2:18-19

First off, isn’t it interesting that those today who call themselves “intercessors” never mention the matchless Great Intercessor who bled to redeem and ever liveth to make intercession for all believers at His Father’s right hand (Hebrews 7:24-26). Every believer should be an intercessor – simply pray for others. Do we ever see the word “intercessor” in God’s Word relating to us? No, in nearly every case the words “intercessor” and “intercession” are applying only to Jesus or the Holy Spirit.

These self-appointed modern “intercessors” are caught red-handed in this alone: They refuse to preach the Great Intercessor and only hail their own virtues and the need for themselves, insidiously replacing Christ with themselves. Anti-Christ means when anything, anyone is put “in place of” Christ.

Where is the special, named calling for an “intercessor” in God’s Word? There are servant callings in the New Testament and the nine gifts of the Spirit yet no calling named “intercessor.”

In Genesis 3, the curse…after the fall…. God tells the woman “thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.” (Genesis 3:16) Scholars believe this in the Hebrew means that the woman will desire her husband’s position as the head. It should be obvious that many a woman has a difficult time submitting and not wanting to be the ruler. This seems to be part of the curse pronounced on mankind after the fall.

It’s when the cross is at the center of our lives that we “buy the truth and sell it not” (Proverbs 23:23). And as those who say with our brother Paul, “Let God be true and EVERY man a liar.” (Romans 3:4) As Jesus’ disciples we refuse to use human reasoning to determine what we will believe (Proverbs 3:5-6). Scripture reveals to us that what one believes is always a matter of the heart – a choice to believe truth or anything else (Proverbs 23:23; 2 Timothy 4:3; 2 Thessalonians 2:9-12; 2 Timothy 4:3-4, etc.).

JEZEBELS hate to be questioned or constructively challenged! They are stubborn, prideful, unaccountable, not submitted, and arrogant!

“Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” James 4:7

To identify the root of this rebellion against God, His order, Andre Viljoen writes:

“James 4 vs 7 So submit to (the authority of) GOD. Resist the devil (stand firm against him) and he will flee.” Vs 10 Humble yourselves (with an attitude of repentance and insignificance) in the presence of the LORD, and HE will exalt you) HE will lift you up, HE will give you purpose.”

Those who are not submitted to the LORD truly, are under the influence and power of Satan himself.

The individual priesthood of each and ever believer is never to be violated by controlling witches or warlocks! Beware.

Jesus didn’t die on the cross to save you for any other mere sinful man to control you! You are bought with His precious blood! You are His! He is the “head” of your life!

“Ye are bought with a price; be not ye the servants of men.” 1 Corinthians 7:23

LOTS of people in the modern church are doing “ministry” not seen in the New Testament Scriptures. They are suspect. Beware. They are subjecting their prey to this foolishness, this rebellion which is as the sin of witchcraft (1 Samuel 15:22-23). Many follow what they learned from other deceived people doing “ministry” in the modern apostate church world! Instead of seeking the LORD earnestly, they continue to perpetrate these devices upon others. LET JESUS teach you from scratch – from the ground upward!

GOD calls all of His people, who are born again into Jesus Christ, to pray, not just those who are self-appointed “intercessors”, an office or gift never mentioned in Scripture other than that Jesus Christ is the Great Intercessor (Hebrews 7:24-26). All born again believers who are washed in the blood of Jesus, presently abiding in Christ, can pray to the Father in Jesus’ name! No such thing as an “intercessor” calling other than for ALL believers, not a special few. Beware of those who claim they are called “intercessors.” These are usually jezebels who cloaked their evil behind this title or supposed special calling.

I received them for years after…. They consisted of reoccurring tormenting dreams and never dreams of peace. The dreams were filled with demonic activity. I awoke often in fear, dread and a sense of hopelessness. We must be aware that often times when some are praying to the “Lord”, they are in actuality speaking to “lord”(our enemy and the deceiver of all mankind). We do well to remember that Satan can also work wonders. Yes, he can also give unto man, and send answers to prayers.. His main goal being destruction. Satan’s ministers are everywhere just as the bible warns, transforming themselves into ministers of “righteousness”. 2 Cor. 11 God graciously brought me out of that group. He allowed me to look back and see the “den” I was in. He revealed to me that it was not of Him. He brought me out because I am his sheep, and he is my Shepherd. We must lean fully upon our God to lead us out of the traps and deception of the enemy. JESUS is the way, the truth and the life. He promised to deliver his true ones from every evil work. We must stay close to the Shepherd and bishop of our souls for He knows the way and he can be trusted. Remember salt “looks” like sugar my beloveds. However, salt will never be sugar.”

When Bible Burning Backfires [podcast]

Let us ever be aware of the Bible truth of sowing and reaping.

“Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. 8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.” Galatians 6:7-8

Read Jeremiah 36 (KJB) perhaps several times. In this passage, note:

v. 28 – Denial changes nothing. Burning a scroll or the whole Bible negates not one iota of the divine authority invested therein nor your personal accountability to it. John 12:48; Rom 2:16; Revelation 20:11-15

v. 30-31 – King Jehoiakim burned God’s Word and denied God.

v. 32 – The Word of God stands forever (Psalms 89:34; 119:89; Mark 13:31). It cannot be erased, and anyone who tries to burn or erase it, will be erased, burned in the fires of hell by the one true God whom they defied.

Jeremiah 36 records and details a pivotal moment in the ministry of the prophet Jeremiah, where he is commanded by God to write down his prophecies, leading to a direct confrontation between the Word of God and the defiant King Jehoiakim. The chapter serves as a testament to the endurance of God’s Word despite human efforts to destroy it.

“We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts: 20  Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. 21  For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.” 2 Peter 1:19-21

Historical Background

  • Timeframe: The events take place around 604-603 B.C., in the fourth and fifth years of King Jehoiakim of Judah.
  • Political Climate: Babylon, under Nebuchadnezzar, had recently defeated Egypt at Carchemish (605 B.C.) and was asserting control over the region. Judah was in a precarious position, shifting loyalties between Babylon and Egypt, creating a state of high political tension.
  • The King: Jehoiakim, son of the reform-minded King Josiah, was wicked and defiant, starkly contrasting his father’s humility.
  • Jeremiah’s Status: Jeremiah was “shut up”—likely banned from the Temple grounds—after preaching for over 20 years.

Overview of Jeremiah 36

1. The Command to Write (vv. 1–3)

In the fourth year of Jehoiakim, God instructs Jeremiah to take a scroll and record all the prophecies, warnings, and calls to repentance he has spoken against Israel, Judah, and other nations since the days of King Josiah. The stated goal is that the people might hear of the impending judgment and repent, allowing God to forgive them.

2. Baruch Records and Reads the Scroll (vv. 4–10)

Jeremiah dictates the messages to Baruch, the son of Neriah, his scribe. Because Jeremiah cannot enter the Temple, he sends Baruch to read the scroll on a fast day, hoping for national repentance.

3. The Officials’ Reaction (vv. 11–19)

Baruch reads the scroll to the people. Micaiah, a concerned official, reports this to the royal cabinet, who summon Baruch to read it to them. Upon hearing the content, the officials (including Elnathan, Delaiah, and Gemariah) are frightened, recognizing the danger the message brings. They wisely advise Baruch and Jeremiah to hide.

4. Jehoiakim Burns the Scroll (vv. 20–26)

The officials inform the king, who sends Jehudi to fetch the scroll. As Jehudi reads it, Jehoiakim, in a state of defiance, cuts the scroll with a penknife and burns it section by section, despite pleas from some of his officials to stop. Neither the king nor his attendants showed fear.

5. The New Scroll and Judgment (vv. 27–32)

God instructs Jeremiah to rewrite the scroll and adds a specific, harsh judgment against Jehoiakim: his body will be left unburied, exposed to heat and frost, and none of his descendants will sit securely on David’s throne. Baruch writes a second scroll, which includes all the original words plus many more added prophecies of judgment.

In Jeremiah 36, the burning of the scroll by King Jehoiakim represents a pivotal moment of defiance against God’s word, where the king used a penknife to cut and destroy a prophetic scroll.

The Event (Jeremiah 36:22–24)

  • The Setting: The scene takes place in the “winter house” in the ninth month, with a fire burning in a brazier (or firepot) before King Jehoiakim.
  • The Action: As Jehudi read the scroll aloud (containing prophecies from Jeremiah), the king cut the scroll into pieces using a scribe’s knife (or penknife) and threw them into the fire.
  • The Destruction: The king methodically cut and burned the scroll column by column (or section by section) until the entire scroll was consumed.
  • The Response: The king and his servants did not show fear or tear their clothes in repentance, demonstrating complete indifference and hardening of heart.

Symbolism and Significance

  • Rejection of Divine Authority: The burning of the scroll symbolized an attempt to silence God and reject His warnings of impending judgment.
  • Contempt for the Message: Cutting the scroll, which was a parchment scroll of leather or papyrus, column by column, showed intense contempt for the message.
  • The Futility of the Action: Despite the destruction of the physical scroll, God commanded Jeremiah to write a second scroll, indicating that divine truth cannot be destroyed.
  • Judgment: The act led directly to further judgment from God against Jehoiakim.

May God’s Word be fully received in our hearts and be that burning fire emanating from our very bones and pouring out to those around us daily.

“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.” Colossians 3:16

The Danger of Joining a Modern Church [podcast]

Fruit. Fruit. Fruit.

“Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit.” Matthew 12:33

Speaking of the pattern of one’s life, Jesus taught that a good tree cannot bear bad fruit. A bad tree cannot bear good fruit.

“Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. 16 Ye shall know (discern) them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? 17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. 19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. 20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.” Matthew 7:15-20

Jesus commanded His people to “know” which is to discern all “by their fruits”—to be fruit inspectors—first in their own lives and then in all others (1 Corinthians 11:31-32; 2 Corinthians 13:5).

Personally, I fail to find anywhere that Jesus or His apostles instructed any saints to “go find a local church and plug in.” Hebrews 10:25 is peddled by pastors today who seek a loyal following instead of seeking to fulfill their God-given duties to establish their hearers in the faith, to ground them in God’s Word, to equip them for the work of the ministry, etc.

“Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.” Hebrews 10:25

Read that again please. Does it say to find a church? No. Those who are born again ARE already God’s “church” which simply means His called out people. More biblically, should we not simply be His church—His people, daily? This seems to be the pattern we see among the earliest followers of Jesus (Acts 2:42-47; 5:42; Colossians 3:16, etc.).

The authentic remnant elect of Christ do not patronize or bid Godspeed to false leaders (2 John 9-11; Revelation 2:2).

Refusing to sit under, condone, bid Godspeed to the false gospel, false doctrines, false teachers and wolves of the modern church … is not forsaking the assembly! Instead, it’s obedience to God who mandates that we “mark them,” that we “earnestly contend” against them, and warns us that anyone who bids Godspeed to them will be punished with them (Romans 16:17-18; Jude 3; 2 John 10-11).

If you are prone to cite Hebrews 10:25 to advocate for going to church weekly, consider where you learned that. In churches, right? Funny you probably don’t even have 10 Bible verses memorized and yet, to the benefit of the pastor, you know that one. What does this tell us? What does this reveal? What’s wrong with this picture?

What happens when people get loyal to a local church especially in this late hour where great apostasy was foretold? Here are a few obvious things that happen when someone “joins a church.”

  • Most people who join churches today are not even born again, are not told they must repent and believe on Jesus to be born again. They become proud of their pastor and friends at that gathering (Zechariah 11:17).
  • Church members are not learning the Word of God itself because they are simply being led by a wolf who is fostering their allegiance toward himself, not Christ (Colossians 2:8-10, 18-19; 3:1-4).
  • They are not becoming soul winners (Proverbs 11:30; Luke 19:10).
  • Attenders of modern churches are seldom if ever taught, established with personal knowledge of the Scriptures, the paramount truth that God’s Word itself is the final divine authority on all matters of the Christian faith and the practice of it (Deuteronomy 4:10; Psalms 119; 138:2; Isaiah 40:8; Mark 13:31; John 10:35; Romans 3:4; 2 Timothy 3:15-17; 2 Peter 1:19-21).
  • The Bible message, warning to “love not the world” is seldom or never heard. Those who live worldly are separated from God (James 4:4; 1 John 2:15-17).
  • Fake pastor do not teach people to get into God’s Word for themselves and so church attenders today are not in the Word daily for themselves which is by satanic design and therefore have no biblical foundation  (Psalms 11:3; Matthew 7:19-29; 2 Timothy 2:15).
  • When do we hear in modern churches that Jesus Christ is the Grand Subject of all of Holy Scripture? We don’t (Psalms 40:7-8; Luke 24:25-27, 44-46; John 5:39-40; 2 Peter 1:19-21).
  • They are never taught the value God places upon good works in those He saves by His grace (Ephesians 2:8-10; Titus 1:16; 3:8; 1 John 2:4).
  • The Great Commission Jesus gave to His people is never mentioned and when it is, they’ve turned it into just another way of promoting themselves, their own brand, ministry (Matthew 28:18-20; Mark 16:15-20; Luke 24:47; Book of Acts).
  • They are not being equipped “for the work of the ministry” which is the duty being carried out by every authentic overseer of Christ’s church (Ephesians 4:11-12; 1 Peter 5:1-6).
  • Never taught in the modern churches is the fact that God holds each person He saves personally responsible, personally accountable for following Jesus daily (Deuteronomy 24:16; Joshua 24:14-15; Luke 21:34-36; 2 Timothy 2:15; Hebrews 3:6, 12-14; 10:26-39; 12:14; Revelation 2-3, etc.).
  • Modern day church members are not in the Word for themselves and the pastors have led them to this biblical illiteracy because they are building a church busine$$ and dumb people are easy prey/targets to rob (Isaiah 9:16; 56:8-12; Jeremiah 23; Ezekiel 34; Matthew 23; 2 Thessalonians 2:9-12; 2 Timothy 4:2-4, etc.).
  • Church goers are barely or never heard the essential cross message which Jesus requires to follow Him (Matthew 16:24-25; Luke 9:23-24; Romans 6; 2 Corinthians 4:10-12; Galatians 2:20; 5:24; Colossians 3:3, etc.).
  • They are never warned of going to hell if they die in sin (Ezekiel 33:12-13; Matthew 10:22; 24:13; Hebrews 3:6; 10:26-39; Revelation 21:8, 27).
  • They are never taught that God is “Holy, holy, holy” and that He requires that those who are His be holy as He is holy (Isaiah 6:3; 1 Peter 1:15-16; Revelation 4:8).
  • Those who attend a church are never informed that only those who overcome sin and Satan will be with Jesus eternally which is exactly what Christ told each and every one of the seven churches of Asia minor (Revelation 2-3).
  • They are never taught that saving grace without exception results in the saved living according to the Scripture: “Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; (Titus 2:11-12).
  • Members are taught the demonic lie of eternal security/once saved always saved , which is Satan’s first teaching and irrefutably led to the fall of mankind in the Garden (Genesis 2:17; 3:4).
  • The mountains of warnings in Scripture are intentionally hidden from the congregational dupes who are willingly biblically ignorant, having rejected the knowledge/Word of God (Ezekiel 3:7; Hosea 4:6; 2 Corinthians 5:11; Colossians 1:28; Jude 3-4, etc.).
  • Most church members are not taught that only those who remain in Christ after being saved will be with Him eternally (Matthew 25:1-13; John 15:6; Romans 11:20-22, etc.).
  • Modern church attenders are seldom if ever warned to come out from this sinful world in the way they live (2 Corinthians 6:14-7:1).
  • They are lukewarm which means hell bound if they don’t repent (Luke 3:15-16).
  • The original Gospel essential, the command to “repent” is never heard, even though it was the very first word spoken by John the Baptist, Jesus, and the apostle Peter in their ministries (Matthew 3:2; 4:17; Acts 2:38; 3:19; 17:30).
  • Modern church members are merely a participant of a “Christian” social club seen nowhere in Scripture (Cp. Acts 2:42-47).
  • Their loyalty and allegiance is toward the pastor, singing group, and fellow congregants (Proverbs 21:16).
  • They are never taken through the volumes of Holy Scripture where God judged His very own people who backslid (Numbers 16; 25; Romans 11:20-22; 1 Corinthians 10:1-12; Hebrews 3-4; Jude 1).
  • Church members are taught to become dependent on their church affiliation, connection, and attendance and not the LORD (Matthew 15:8).
  • They are not daily seeking the face of the LORD (1 Chronicles 16:11; Psalms 27:4, 8; 57:7; 63:8; Matthew 6:33; Luke 9:23-24).
  • Seminarian led church members are seldom if ever taught that for eternal glory with Him Jesus requires the decisive cutting off of the hand and plucking out of the eye of any sin that defiles them in the eyes of a holy God (Mark 9:43-49).
  • When the Bible is literally read, 99% of the time it’s from a vatican corrupted fake “bible.”
  • Most are barely if at all different from any lost soul around them in their daily life (2 Corinthians 6:14-18).
  • Due to their own refusal to truly repent and walk with Jesus daily, they were sent strong delusion, are in darkness and deception, and therefore “remain in the congregation of the dead” (Proverbs 21:16).

“God is greatly to be feared in the assembly of the saints, and to be had in reverence of all them that are about him.” Psalms 89:7

The words “leader” and “leaders” appear 6 times (total) in God’s Word. It is always to be in context of servant leading (Matthew 20:20-28; 23:8-12; 1 Peter 5:1-6). In the following and most popular times “leaders” is used, it’s in the negative, as in false “leaders.”

“For the LEADERS of this people cause them to err; and they that are led of them are destroyed.” Isaiah 9:16

“Let them alone: they be blind LEADERS of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.” Matthew 15:14

They love their darkness rather than the light of His truth and therefore craft, they erect the image of a false god in their wicked unrepentant hearts.

“Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, 10 and with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: 12 that they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.” 2 Thessalonians 2:9-12

“Jeremiah 7. The people were wicked and evil, placing their trust in the temple, instead of God, and believing their religious activities would be pleasing to the Lord. They refused to obey the Lord God nor receive correction, and the truth had perished, so God said, I will cut them off from my mouth! Wow! Isn’t this exactly what we are seeing in this late hour?
