You got saved? Good – STAY saved! And the only way to stay saved – to “abide” – REMAIN in Christ is to stay in His Word and in prayer. The proof is that your life will bear His good fruit (John 15:1-16)

If you choose to neglect Christ in daily fellowship, you will grow weak and “fall away.” (Luke 8:13) And, it’s possible you will never be brought back to Him (Hebrews 6:4-6; 10:29-39, etc.).

“… for without me ye can do nothing. 6 If a man abide (remain, continue) not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.” John 15:5-6

The lady who was most instrumental in leading me to Christ, who invited me to the meeting where I was saved, later departed from Christ. The man who preached that night when the LORD saved my wretched soul also departed from Christ, committing heinous crimes. So, who saves us saints? CHRIST! Why would we ever blame our dear LORD and Savior for what mere sinful men do?

“Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;” 1 Timothy 4:1

Any person who has been saved and yet is not in God’s Word daily, is backslidden and in danger of hell fire. Such a person reveals that the things of this fleeting world are more important to them than the Word Himself – Jesus Christ! (1 John 2:15-17)

“Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.” 1 Corinthians 10:12

“Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God. 13 But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. 14 For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end; 15 While it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation.” Hebrews 3:12-14
