WHAT ABOUT THE DEAD SEA SCROLLS?
The LORD promised to “keep” and to “preserve” His Word for us.
“The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. 7 Thou shalt KEEP them, O LORD, thou shalt PRESERVE them from this generation for ever.” Psalms 12:6-7
We have exactly what the LORD wanted us to have in His Word – in the 66 book canon of Holy Scripture.
From the beginning and to this day and till Jesus returns, Satan’s job is to deceive the gullible by casting doubt on God’s Word (Genesis 3).
Rebels are always looking for a way to disprove God’s Word in order to justify their own sin and evil (John 3:19-21). “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.” (Galatians 6:7) We often hear of “the lost books of the Bible.” Beware. The Bible is missing no books. This is an evil hearted premise and indictment against the Almighty who loves and cares for His people and gave us “ALL things that pertain unto life and godliness” in the “exceeding great and precious promises” of His Word (2 Peter 1:3-4; 19-21, etc.). Repent now.
The idea that there are ANY lost books is pure fiction and just another lie of Satan to make believers think they don’t have everything they need, that God shorted them (see Genesis 3:1). Satan is always the one casting doubt on God’s Word. Jesus says Satan is the one who “taketh away the word.” (Mark 4:15) This is not only laughable, it’s an indictment against a Holy God. GOD oversaw HIS cannon of Holy Scripture and decided it would contain 66 books. God’s Word assures us that “ALLLLLLL things that pertain unto life and godliness” are found in the “exceeding great and precious promises” of His written Word which we have in the King James Bible. Read 2 Peter 1:3-4 and 19-21 and Psalms 12:6-7.
DEAD SEA SCROLLS?
QUESTION: Do the Dead Sea Scrolls render the King James Bible obsolete?
ANSWER: No, they support it.
EXPLANATION: The Dead Sea Scrolls which were found by an Arab shepherd boy in 1947 in the Qumran caves near Jericho, Israel have no ill effect on the Bible.
Their text actually agrees with the King James Bible. This fact makes them unattractive to scholars desiring to overthrow the perfect Bible. So, other than commenting on the irony of the way in which they were found, they are largely ignored.
The translators of the King James Bible did not need the Dead Sea Scrolls since they already had the Textus Receptus which they match.
