Misleading vs Grounding Voices in Our Midst [podcast]

WHO are you really listening to and following? Do you realize that the Bible foretold that “many” would be deceived by false leaders in the final days? (Matthew 7:15; 24:11, etc.) How can we know we are truly one with Christ and following Him, and not being misled?

Check this out:

“Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness. 18 But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.” 2 Peter 3:17-18

Your path is lit as the light of Christ is shining in your heart via your daily ingestion of His Word.

“The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.” Psalms 119:130

Those not hearing and obeying His written Word, are not following Jesus.

Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.”   Mark 8:38

“Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.” Mark 13:31

ANY person who is posing as a representative for Christ who is not constantly exhorting you to get into and know God’s written Word for yourself, is with no exception 100% a vile wolf (Matthew 7:15; 24:11; 2 Timothy 2:15; 3:15-17; 2 Peter 1:16-21, etc.).

“It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.” Matthew 4:4

The man who has made the quality, the obedient and eternal decision to make the written Word of God the very final divine authority of His life, knows he’s walking with Jesus. All of Heaven’s confirmation and assurances abide in that man.

“Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them.” Psalms 119:165

The true remnant of God’s elect are the bride of Christ, the Bridegroom. They follow His stated wishes, His conditions – found exclusively in His written Word (Matthew 25:1-13; Ephesians 5:25-27; Revelation 19:7-11).

Most of the “prophetic” dreams and visions and words I see and hear circulating seem to be coming from ungrounded vessels. I click on past them personally.

THE “WORDS” SUPPOSEDLY “FROM GOD” CONTINUE TO SWIRL ALL OVER SOCIAL MEDIA. SEEMS LIKE LOTS OF PEOPLE WANT TO BE IN THE SPOTLIGHT. EITHER THEIR WORDS ARE OBVIOUS OCCURRENCES, THINGS THAT ARE ALREADY KNOWN, OR THEY ARE BORROWED WORDS, OR THEY ARE JUST NOT COMING FROM A TRUSTWORTHY, ROOTED-AND-GROUNDED IN-THE-WRITTE- WORD PERSON, BUT RATHER, A NOVICE (1 Timothy 3:6).

Personally, I have little interest. I could care less about your “crazy encounter with Jesus” you claim to have had as you use sensationalism, faked emotions to act like it’s real. Grounded disciples of Jesus are not interested in your supposed word, vision, or dream you claim is “from God” BECAUSE THEY HAVE A KING JAMES BIBLE, THE “MORE SURE WORD OF PROPHECY” (2 Peter 1:19-21). They are in THE WORD daily and so not impressed with “a word” someone is peddling (2 Timothy 2:15).

According to 2 Peter 1:16-21, the “more sure word of prophecy” is actually the Holy Scriptures, not that spoken by modern prophets.

Proof that prophets don’t see or know everything or that they are necessarily those who foretell the future:

“Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you: 11 Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow.” 1 Peter 1:10-11

One writer notes: “A prophet in biblical terms was a man who proclaimed inspired words from God (not necessarily predictions of the future, but words inspired by the Holy Spirit – note 1 Peter 1:10-11; 2 Peter 1:19-21).”

WHEN you are personally, daily grounded in God’s Word, you don’t run around looking for some flake with a supposed word, vision, or dream! Colossians 2:6-10

Un-grounded people will search out and listen endlessly to prophecies, dreams, and visions supposedly from God, many of which contradict each other. Yet, these same people have little or no time to “search the scriptures” as Jesus instructed and which Peter told us is “the MORE sure word of prophecy” (John 5:39; 2 Peter 1:19-21).

Some look for a word instead of searching and studying THE WORD – the “MORE SURE word of prophecy” which is more divinely authoritative than even the audible voice of God the Father, much less modern frauds who wear and tout “prophet” as a title (2 Peter 1:16-21; Matthew 20:24-28; 23:8-12).

God didn’t say “go explain who I am to other people.” No, He said “preach the word” and “preach the gospel” (2 Timothy 4:2; Mark 16:15).

IF Jesus taught something and we’re not teaching it – it’s because we are not following Him correctly – on HIS stated terms (Matthew 28:18-20; John 8:47; 2 Timothy 3:16; 4:2-4, etc.). Are you following Jesus Christ or mere man? Do you preach Christ and His doctrines from HIS Word or are you just regurgitating the pitiful poisons of mere men?

When you hear people saying things like “God is doing a new thing,” “God is going to bless you,” etc., and it doesn’t include your crucifixion, the cross, you can know that they are simply flattering you and leading you into a false hope. These are the “enemies of the cross of Christ” that Paul warned us about (Philippians 3:18-19).

MESSAGE RECEIVED:

“Did you ever consider that the Word was given by a word? Somebody heard the voice of God and wrote it down. Today that voice still speaks and He’s not limited to what’s written.  He actually speaks today.”

REPLY:

Yes, the LORD speaks today but only in perfect union and context with His written Word (Romans 3:4; 1 Corinthians 14:33). No, the Bible is the only divinely sanctioned final authority Word (2 Timothy 3:16-17). These are the very false prophets Jesus and His holy apostles so often warned us about – who don’t get people into God’s Word but rather draw them away to their own words they claim are from the LORD. And, these frauds some insist upon defending are speaking in contradiction to the written Word. The prey don’t realize that though because they are not in THE WORD for themselves. What does 2 Peter 1:12-21 tell us? Study this closely, prayerfully.

Have you memorized 2 Timothy 2:15? Do you obey this command?

Frauds among us are good at selling the gullible on how “anointed” and “prophetic” they are but never get their hearers, their audience, into the written Word of God. In fact, if they got you in THE WORD, they’d lose your busine$$. Time to wise up!

We have “the MORE sure word of prophecy” which is the written Word (2 Peter 2:12-21). This does not negate the gifts of the Spirit and yet, when people and words contradict, do not align with the written Word, they are false and misleading (1 Corinthians 14:33; 1 Thessalonians 5:21; 1 John 4:1, etc.). So much of what is called “the prophetic” today is false.

Jeremiah 23 details the deceitful methods used by deceptive false prophets.

“If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister;” Colossians 1:23

“As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: 7 Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving. 8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. 9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. 10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:” Colossians 2:6-10

“For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ. 3 But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. 4 For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.” 2 Corinthians 11:2-4
