Farai Repented!

This week on Wednesday, I had to go to another town in the Greater Dallas area on a ministry excursion. While driving back up, traveling up a certain busy street, I noticed a young man walking down the side walk towards the direction I was driving. The LORD deeply impressed my heart to visit with this man. My initial fleshly thought was “he may have a gun and also, maybe I need to give him the money in my pocket.” The Holy Spirit quickened to me that this young man was troubled and needed help (word of knowledge 1 Cor. 12:9-10). So, I swiftly did a u-turn and went and parked right where this young man would be passing as he walked. Parking in a parking lot in his path, I got out and leaned against my car with arms folded. As Farai walked by and looked up and saw me standing there, I said simply “The LORD told me to stop and talk with you.” Immediately he threw his head back and exclaimed “You have go to be kidding me!” Tears began flowing from his eyes as he related profusely how it must have been the LORD – it absolutely had to be – because as he was walking up that sidewalk, he was toiling and struggling in anguish with a temptation. Farai shared with me that he was about to do something “real bad.” Upon inquiry, Farai related that he had decided to commit a crime but was also saying “God show me a sign if you want to stop me.” He said he was going to commit a robbery or burglary in order to get some money.  This man (24) is clearly not a bum. He’s very sharp yet was in a spiritual battle, one that was raging for his very soul and  driving him to commit a crime, get killed, get arrested, and/or get thrown in jail. God intervened!!!!!!!

Farai told me that his parents are sincere, on-fire Christians and brought him up right but he had strayed. He told me they had just called him and told him they had prayed for him last night. Well, God heard their prayers! I preached the law to convict him of his sins and repentance and deep dying to self to Farai. He was buried in the truth as the Law and the cross was strongly presented to this young man as God was convicting him of his sins. By the LORD’s grace, it was a very firm and loving delivery. The LORD broke this man. After much speaking of the Word to him, I invited Farai to repent and lay down his life without reserve. He agreed. I then told him to put his elbows on the trunk of my car and bow down in humility. I stood next to him and informed him firmly that he would not be praying to me or any man but to the LORD and that the LORD was listening and was going to hear and save him. I instructed Farai to pray from the depth of his being, with everything that was within him. Farai repented as we prayed deeply. Farai called on the Father in repentance and weeping to forgive his many sins and take over his life completely. He submitted his life into God’s hands, crying “LORD, not my will be done but Thine be done!”

When we finished, Farai heard a lengthy message on getting into God’s Word daily, first thing, before anything else. He learned that victory only belongs to those who put God first place in their lives – literally! Defeat is the friend of all who don’t live in the Word!

After this he asked “Where do you go to church?” I told him that we are the church and it’s not somewhere you go and that Jesus says to “Follow Me daily.” I didn’t want this man trusting in a church and compartmentalizing his walk that way, becoming depending on an hour or two on Sundays and Wednesday. Local churches are not making disciples but rather just created good church members. They are not fulfilling a New Testament purpose and are misleading many. That is an abomination.

During this glorious interaction Farai thanked me profusely no less than twenty times. I just kept telling him how much the LORD loves and cares for him and that’s what all this means. I told him to go home and tell his precious parents and we prayed for his family.

Will you lift Farai up to our LORD today, tomorrow, and the ext day? Just 3 days. Please pray the Holy Scriptures over this man’s life.

Whatever You Do – TRAIN Up Your Child!

“Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6

If you are not teaching your child(ren) God’s Word, you are failing as a Christian and a parent. Jesus commanded us to go and teach all men His Word and that begins at home (Matthew 28:18-20). There is NOTHING more important to that child and God has exclusively given parents this responsibility. Need we repent at once, get out God’s Word and begin reading with our precious children? more here

“Abide in the Ship” by Travis Bryan III “Except these abide in the ship, ye cannot be saved.” Acts 27:31

Read Acts 27:27–44. The story of the ship in this passage, although literally true, is also a figure or type of the story of the church and its doctrines of election and predestination. It is a picture of the church (the great ship) on its way to heaven. The ship is CHOSEN by God to be His very own vessel. Christ is the Captain and Pilot of this ship. All who desire to be part of this elect ship and its Captain can do so through a living faith in Christ, by which they come on board the ship. As long as they are on the ship, in company with the ship’s Captain, they are among the elect. If they choose to abandon the ship and Captain, they cease to be part of the elect. Election is always only in union with the Captain and His ship.
