WHERE O WHERE IS YOUR PAST?
Your Past is in Your Past! Deep Six This!!!!!
Get it?
Does the Bible tell us to forget? And if so, what are we to forget?
What does God’s Word tell us to do with our past?
Many wallow in the guilt of their past when there is no need to. Our Maker and Redeemer made for us full provision to be cleansed, washed, and cleared in our conscience!
What does God’s Word tell us to do with our past?
“Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, 14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 3:13-14
Did you catch the instructions in this passage?
- Forget
- Reach
- Press
We cannot move forward until we have captured this truth of our God …. EXCUSE ME, DID HE STUTTER? WHAT’s that say? Philippians 3:13-14 is a divine COMMAND! Obey God – by forgetting, releasing, putting behind you your past – all of it, the good, bad, and ugly! Assignment: Get before the LORD privately today, seeking His face, confessing Jesus afresh and all your sins…..to be washed, refreshed and blessed by the fount of His precious blood!
There are a myriad of biblical examples of how our LORD freely forgave, cleansed, and restored precious souls who turned to Him in repentance.
“The Lord hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.” Jeremiah 31:3
Where are your past confessed sins?
“Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth in mercy. 19 He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.” Micah 7:18-19
“For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.” Hebrews 8:12
The true believer is to “go and sin no more” and so we do not have a license to sin. We are called to confess them and turn from them by His blessed, infinite power – “He giveth more grace” to the humble (James 4:6-10).
When the born again believer confesses his sins, what happens? What TWO things does God do?
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9
Never discount the mighty working power of Christ’s blood – to reach where no man can reach – into the very conscience of men.
“How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?” Hebrews 9:14
The LORD made full provision for man’s sin – before and after He saves that person.
There are different emphases and imbalances among some who call themselves Christians. On one hand, some claim it’s okay to sin and just confess later. Not true. Then there are the self-righteous among us who feign to live in sinless perfection. They scoff at, ignore, and purposely neglect the whole counsel of God’s Word on this topic. The modern Pharisee, in his pride, is self-righteous and will not acknowledge his present need for God’s grace and mercy. No, instead, he finds an evil joy in using the past sins of others against them. There is no hint here of sin being okay or necessary – it’s not (Rom. 6:1. 2, 14). We have been given His full ability to choose life and live pleasing to the LORD in all things. We are commanded to be holy as the LORD is holy and also told that God’s grace and mercy are abundant towards His children – if they will return, repent, and forsake their evil ways (Isaiah 1:18-20). Go read Hebrews 4:14-16; 7:24-26; 1 John 1:3-2:2, etc.
“For in my wrath I smote thee, but in my favour have I had mercy on thee.” Isaiah 60:10
Is it not high time to freshly apply the precious blood of Christ to our lives? Are you ready to be freshly cleansed – all the way to the conscious level?
“Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; 19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.” 1 Peter 1:18-19
Your prayer of consecration and for cleansing and deliverance….
Father, I come to you in the Person, the blood, and name of Jesus Christ. Thank You for sending Your only begotten Son to die for me and all my sins. Right this moment, if never before, I call upon You Jesus to apprehend me afresh. I turn my life fully to You LORD Jesus and ask You to deliver me from all sin and inroads of the enemy into my life. I openly forgive all who have wronged me in any way as I submit my life to You Jesus. LORD Jesus, thank You that Your sinless blood washes away all my past sins right this moment and touches to the depth and core of my conscience, cleansing it perfectly. Thank You LORD that Your banner over me is love. Please multiply Your grace to my life and cause fruitfulness to abound to Your blessed glory. Deliver me from any influence of sin and Satan. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Feedback:
“This was good to read. Woefully, I find that other Christians that I knew in my past, before salvation, have a pesky habit of reminding me of or holding my past sins against me. Some Christians do not honestly believe that you become a new creature in Christ and that old things pass away. This is one issue that stunts us from growing in love toward one another. The true love of the brethren is a glorious thing and shines as light before the whole world. Let us have unfeigned love for each other. This is the mark of a Christian.” Jill J.
Apostasy
The Result of Real Repentance [podcast]
“They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.” Titus 1:16
WE DON’T NEED JUST ANOTHER “CHURCH SERVICE” OR “SERMON,” WE NEED TO REPENT AND WHEN WE REALLY DO, WE WILL OBEY GOD—OTHERWISE WE DIDN’T TRULY REPENT.
“In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea,
2 And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
3 For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.
4 And the same John had his raiment of camel’s hair, and a leathern girdle about his loins; and his meat was locusts and wild honey.
5 Then went out to him Jerusalem, and all Judaea, and all the region round about Jordan,
6 And were baptized of him in Jordan, confessing their sins.
7 But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?
8 Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance:
9 And think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.
10 And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.” Matthew 3:1-12
“Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?” 2 Corinthians 13:5
When we repent – re-turn to God: Do we want to see who has truly repented, beginning with the examining of ourselves?
- We will be washed afresh from our sins and have “times of refreshing from the presence of the Lord.” (Acts 3:19)
- We will forsake our lives in this fleeting world, deny self, take up the cross daily and follow Jesus (Luke 9:23-24; 14:33; 17:33).
- We will live holy “in this present world.” (Titus 2:11-14; 1 Peter 1:15-16)
- We will be about our “Father’s business” and not our own – the Great Commission He gave us (Luke 2:49; Matthew 28:18-20; Mark 16:15-20).
Forsaking All?
What does that mean?
“So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple.” Luke 14:33
One must be willing and obedient to put aside religion and familial bonds to follow Christ, or he will not and “cannot be my disciple” says the LORD. Non-negotiable. If Jesus Christ is not first place, first priority of your life, you are a hell bound counterfeit who shall suffer the flames of eternal justice, damnation (Mark 9:43-49).
Jesus says:
“He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.” Matthew 10:37
Repent. Turn wholly to the LORD, putting all of your trust in the LORD your God, who “is a jealous God.” Jesus Christ is the name of the only LORD and Savior!
“For thou shalt worship no other god: for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God:” Exodus 34:14
Jesus says He will “spue,” vomit, reject anyone who dies without Him being their very “first love” their “first” priority—and talk is cheap (Revelation 2:4-5; 3:15-16).

“Powerful message! Thank you. I was always a fighter. But I fought for myself. And have had to learn through the cross life that meekness is not weakness. It’s actually strength in God to keep quiet and not have to retaliate when attacked or persecuted. But taking a step back, and asking God to bless them while lifting them up in prayer to the Lord. This is the bowels of mercy extended to those who attack us and to know as Paul did, I am the least of all the saints. And let God repay. Romans 12:19.” Karen Cochran

Man Shall not Live by Bread Alone [podcast]
“As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:” 1 Peter 2:2
Spiritual growth occurs when we ingest the words of God, embrace, incorporate, and walk them out.
“Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips; I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food.” Job 23:12
“The counsel of the Lord standeth for ever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations.”Psalms 33:11
The graphic message below is from a dear sister in Christ named Cassandra, on SubStack:

“But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. 23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: 24 For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. 25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.” James 1:22-25
“Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; 32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” John 8:31-32
“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” 2 Timothy 2:15
“Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O Lord God of hosts.” Jeremiah 15:16
YOUR PRAYER: Holy Father, thank You for finding and forgiving me and saving me into Your eternal family. Help me realize the utter importance of feeding on Your Word daily. I love You dear LORD Jesus. Help me to love You more LORD. Help me to feed, to nourish the members of Your body with Your Word. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
