Who’s Your Daddy?

Our transparency with Christ and others.

“Abba” means daddy!

“For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.” Romans 8:15

“And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.” Galatians 4:6

We can come to the LORD with honesty and know that He desires us to be His friends. To His own, those who are born again and serving Him, Jesus says:

“Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.” John 15:15

GOD simply wants His children to be honest, to come to Him, to depend on Him, and to allow Him to be their DADDY and not to put on an act – pretend to be some “mighty man/woman of faith.” Delusional.

What kind of love fills our hearts when our children come to us this way! No words can describe, right? The LORD wants us to approach Him, knowing He desires us and will forgive and restore and bless as we come on His terms.

Biblical Examples of People being Real with God

“O our God, wilt thou not judge them (their enemies)? for we have no might against this great company that cometh against us; neither know we what to do: but our eyes are upon thee. 13 And all Judah stood before the LORD (transparently), with their little ones, their wives, and their children.” 2 Chronicles 20:12-13

“And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.” Mark 9:24

“one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.” Luke 11:1

“And the apostles said unto the Lord, Increase our faith.” Luke 17:5

Ever heard the term “keep it real”?

As Christ makes us transparent, hiding nothing, authentically in utter need of Him, we will find ourselves discerning more closely who we closely fellowship with (Proverbs 27:29; 28:13; Matthew 7:6). The ability to connect closely with fake people will diminish.

When our sins, faults, and failures are exposed openly, though we think the world is ending, victory is at hand. God of Restoration

Jesus beckons us to “Come” and lay these burdens down that we’ve carried and He never intended us to carry (Matthew 11:28-30). We really are weak and HE IS STRONG.

“Todd, I have tried to be spiritual my whole Christian life striving acting, pretending, etc. I find it difficult to be really real but getting there!” Jimbob Herring

Ah amen beloved brother. You see, you are being authentic right here and now and God is working and going to bless your life to be conformed to our LORD Jesus’ image (Rom 8:28-29). I have done the same thing early on and for years previously …. He is teaching the hearts of His children brother, amen Jesus. Help us LORD, please.

“One of the words I keep close to me is DEPENDENCY, how much I need Him , that without Him I can do NOTHING. We must examine ourselves daily weather we are in the faith, and work out our salvation with fear and trembling. Galatians 2.20.” Devin Swart
