“Where does the Bible stat the Bible is the final authority? Book, chapter, and verse please.”
2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:12-21; Ps 119; Mark 13:31; Isaiah 40:8, etc. …. In 2 Peter 1:12-21 we are told that the written Word of God is more divinely authoritative than even the actual audible voice of God the Father speaking from Heaven. safeguardyoursoul.com/bible/
Brother Brett Stallmann asks a very good question:
“Is giving money to a non-kill animal shelter a good thing, I give to the Salvation Army, and Good Will as they are non profit organizations. Todd does that qualify???”
Hi Brett. Good questions brother. The good will is definitely not Christian. The Salvation Army seems to remain pretty in tact. Giving to those who do true NT ministry as Jesus conveyed, it what we should do. This was posted and gives biblical direction for your very good question brother: Where to Give?
Want a book that will change your life this year? Here it is. I Die Daily (1 Corinthians 15:31). Reading, feasting, feeding on a page of this book daily or even a paragraph, will assure the absorption of the essential message of the cross in Jesus’ Gospel into your personal life …. see what others are saying about this volume here – I Die Daily (book)
“I MUST SAY, YOU’VE ENCOURAGED ME TO READ MY BIBLE IN THE MORNING AS WELL, NORMALLY I READ IN THE EARLY EVENING!” Colin Ramsamy
Amen sister. I certainly understand. The more we commune with this cross message, the more it becomes part of our lives! Daily Cross
“Good morning, Todd!
Just have a question for you.
I was talking with a friend the other day about baptism. He says it’s not necessary for salvation. I quoted the part in Acts:2 where the people asked Peter what they needed to do to be saved, and he said, Repent AND be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins. Am I right or wrong about baptism?” David
Hey brother David …. good to hear from you today …. well water baptism is only for the person who has already repented and been regenerated … which is the miracle of God in the human heart as He makes us new creatures in Christ (Titus 3:5-6; 2 Corinthians 5:17-18). According to the full counsel of God’s Word, water baptism is only for the person who has already believed upon Christ, simultaneously repenting (Acts 20:20-21) and is an outward, public profession, confessing Christ and His transforming work of salvation in that life! Check this out brother …. it’s a sign of Christ’s cross in our daily life where we willingly choose to die and are buried and He raises us up by His Spirit to glorify Him (Luke 9:23-24). Christ raises us up out of our dead in trespasses and sin fallen state to serve Him (Ephesians 2). Water Baptism
“My friend what do you tell someone that thinks they are saved and their actions are in complete contrast of holiness obedience and walk as The world and after the rudiments of the world. I see no Christ in them at all…how do you witness to someone like that?”
Hi. Tell them nothing but the Word of God – verbatim. Memorize it and what it says (King James Bible) and show or speak it to them. We cannot win someone with OUR words …. our words must be fasted (gone for good)…. IS. 58). Memorize 2 Timothy 4:2 and 1 Peter 4:11 – “If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God” 1 Peter 4:11. Oh and the LORD says “Speak with my words unto them.” Ezekiel 3:4
“If Jesus said He will be with us always (Matthew 28:20) then why did He have to send the Holy Spirit because He (Christ) was going away?” BJ
Great question …. Jesus is with us via the divine Person of the Holy Spirit. See 1 John 3:24. And, as a man while on earth, Christ was only able to be at one place at a time and yet now, by His Spirit, He indwells every single believer across His globe. In fact, for this very reason, He informed us that it was better that He go away so He could send the Holy Spirit to indwell and fill each and every one of His saints. See John 16:7. Study Pentecost. Acts 1-2, etc. Does this not reveal to us why Peter used the words “the gift of the Holy Ghost”? (Acts 2:38)
Here are several posts on the Holy Spirit http://safeguardyoursoul.com/holy-spirit/
“My beloved brother, question, what would be an example of a weakness and what exactly was Paul talking about when he said he boasted in His weaknesses. Thank you brother I truly appreciate you and love you…” Cat J.
“Ye are my witnesses, saith the Lord, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.” Isaiah 43:10
A big welcome to the slew of new disciples who are communicating truth that is far beyond what I have ever seen, especially from numerous saints. Incredible. AND, essentially, they are putting forth His truth in love and in His wisdom …. “speaking the truth in love.” (Ephesians 4:15; James 3:17-18) God bless and supply and embolden, and anoint His servants this late hour! We will be going Home soon! (John 14:1-6; Revelation 21) In Jesus’ name. … check this out: Heaven’s Nourishment http://safeguardyoursoul.com/heavens-nourishment/
“Ok. So how does one develop love? I live in logic, and love seems to sometimes be the opposite of logic. I am a Christian because it makes sense and is logical, and I believe the Bible is true, but this passage (1 Corinthians 13) says I’m not a Christian w/o love. I know Jesus’ death & resurrection aren’t logical, but the evidence shows it to be true, so I accept it as factual. But apparently, that doesn’t make me a Christian, according to this passage. By the same token, there are billions of people who love their religions, but loving it doesn’t make false religions true.”
Good morning John. “Love is of God” ….. “Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. 8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.” 1 John 4:7-8 …..1 Cor 13 reveals the characteristics and fruits of God’s love…. only “God is love” and those who dwell in Him have His love in them and it’s by this love that all men know we are His disciples (John 13:34-35). This all begins when a person is drawn to the LORD and repents, surrendering his life to the LORD with faith in Jesus Christ. 1 John 4:16-18 are very important to read prayerfully. “Consider what I say; and the Lord give thee understanding in all things. ” 1 Tim. 2:7
