The Third Tree is the Cross of Christ
1.The Tree of Life is a Tree of Life, Light, Agape Love, Grace and Nonduality.
John 1:4 followed by 1 John 1:5 and then 1 John 4:8.
Most prominent characteristic of God’s life is agape love. God is agape love, an unconditional love. 1 John 4:8. This love is His essence, nature, character and activity. It is an unconditional love and not conditional as taught by Jesus Himself in Matt 5:38-48 and Luke 6:35. God’s love is not performance-based. It is nondual or single, single-eyed and simple. God is no respecter of persons. He loves all to the max and so equally. His love has no judgmentalism, guile, hypocrisy or hidden motives. What you see with God’s life and love is what you get. There is no outer persona but with a different hidden inner persona. This life and love wears no mask. It is not quid pro quo or tit for tat: “if you love me, I will love you”. No “you scratch my back, I’ll scratch yours.” No eye for eye tooth for tooth type retaliation. God’s life and love can absorb the blows and keep on loving one’s enemies. It can consistently love without compensation. God’s love is a vulnerable love, willing to risk being hurt, a gentle lamb willing to live among wolves. It is single-eyed, not dual eyed. Matt 26:21-24; Luke 10:1-4.
2.The Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil is a tree of death, darkness, performance-based love, law and duality.
(Gen 2:17; 2 Cor 3:6-8; 2 Cor 11:3)
It is a Tree of Law and it engenders performance-based responses. It is a tree of death.
3.The Tree of Transition from the death tree back to the life tree is a third tree, the Cross, a tree of both death and life.
(Gal 2:19-20; 3:9-14; Rom 8:2-3; Rev 22:1-3).
