Are you learning the original Gospel OR are you deceived? SO MANY who've become popular ministry celebrities both locally and nationally, have built their ministry busine$$ empire on their own personality instead of the only bedrock of God's Word. Are you bidding Godspeed to such? (2 John 7-11) The LORD instructed us simply to "Preach the word" saints - so people can see Jesus and not us! (2 Timothy 4:2; 1 Corinthians 2:1-5; Galatians 6:14, etc.).
IT’S important that we pay close attention when we read Holy Scripture – and compare the messages preached/taught by Christ and His apostles and prophets to the messages we hear from people and “pastors” today. We may find a vast difference. Listen to the message of John the Baptist:
“But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?
8 Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance:
9 And think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.
10 And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.” Matthew 3:7-10
John the Baptist calls these false religious leaders a whole “generation of vipers” – a bunch of snakes. He calls these snakes to repent and demonstrate that they have truly done more than lip service by showing good fruit! He gives them the divine promise that anyone with a true relationship with Christ and the proof of good fruit will be “hewn down, and cast into the fire.” Hell.
How often have you seen this kind of straight talk from pastors today?
It’s interesting that most who call themselves “Baptists” do not remotely resemble John the Baptist.
No, there’s no intention here to justify unnecessary fleshly meanness (James 1:20). Yet, when we read Scripture, paying attention, we see the manifestation of the holy fear of God and boldness from Christ and His holy apostles. This is in contrast to the moral cowards we call “pastors” today who never bring conviction, clearly do not fear the LORD, nor do they preach the whole counsel of God’s Word – in order to build their own church business enterprise. Beware. These are the very subtle deceivers and false prophets we are so often warned about.
The prophets, Jesus, and His holy apostles constantly warned of these beguilers who would lead many to eternal damnation (Matthew 7:15; 24:11, 24, etc.). If you aren’t comfortable with this irrefutable fact, you are the one who needs to change – to truly be crucified with Christ (Galatians 2:20).
Now, read the following chapters to compare the messages of the prophets, Jesus, and His apostles: Jeremiah 23; Ezekiel 34; Matthew 23; Acts 7:51-52; 13:10; Revelation 2-3, etc..
Nikki Burkhalter writes: “The reason why false prophets, teachers, charlatans and witches are so successful in deceiving people is because people are lazy and refuse to read/study for themselves. Instead of seeking God for themselves they would rather listen to man’s interpretation of who God is. Instead of praying for themselves they would rather ask for man’s prayers. Instead of going to the Word of God for themselves they would rather seek a word from man. Instead of fasting and prayer, and living holy, they would rather take shortcuts by trying to tithe/sow their way in to God’s kingdom, or enter in by way of attendance at a church building. God desires an intimate personal relationship with each of us. You can’t ride someone else’s coattails into heaven! You must work out your own salvation!”
