“In the mouth of two or three WITNESSES (the person(s) who SAW IT) shall every word be established.” 2 Corinthians 13:1
Have you noticed that most things that get circulated don’t even have one WITNESS much less “two or three” actual “WITNESSES.” Those things circulated should be therefore completely discounted and disbelieved. Oh and those circulating them should be corrected.
The word “WITNESS” is key here. It’s ALL-important. Meditate on this. Things that are spawned by hearsay and NO ACTUAL “WITNESS” get spread by the proverbial “grapevine.” If you partake, you are in sin. See and lock this verse of truth in beloved and please spread THIS! We must ask: WHO WHO WHO is the actual EYE “WITNESS”???? Ask the one circulating the info. Ask the slanderer.
Here it is again: “In the mouth of two or three WITNESSES (the person(s) who SAW IT) shall every word be established.” 2 Corinthians 13:1
Next time someone comes to you and whispers, “Did you hear…?” Stop them and kindly ask: “Did YOU personally SEE?” Are you a person WITNESS – having seen it for yourself, OR might you be passing on a “false report”? (Exodus 23:1-2)
Notice in the verse below, the key word here saints: “WITNESSES” …. not hearsayers or people just passing on false reports, but actual “WITNESSES” ….
“Against an elder receive not an accusation, but before two or three WITNESSES.” 1 Timothy 5:19
Speaking of “Two or Three Witnesses,” under the divine inspiration of the Holy Ghost, Moses wrote:
“Thou shalt not raise a false report: put not thine hand with (do not enjoin) the wicked to be an unrighteous witness. 2 Thou shalt not follow a multitude to do evil; neither shalt thou speak in a cause to decline after many to wrest (pervert) judgment (justice):” Exodus 23:1-2
Do not follow the crowd beloved. Do not further things that are not actual and verified. Pray for the person under attach. They are not out of God’s reach – who is “NOT willing that ANY should perish.” (2 Peter 3:9)
This verse and Bible truth below reveals that the LORD is angry with those who sow discord among the brethren – which is an “abomination.” (Proverbs 6:16-19)
“These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: 17 A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, 18 An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, 19 A false witness that speaketh (repeats) lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.” Proverbs 6:16-19
Those who circulate slanderous reports, especially against the righteous, are sowing discord among the brethren of Christ and are under divine judgment.
Heart circumcision by the power of the Holy Spirit and the daily, crucifying cross, will guarantee a mouth and words that glorify God and show mercy on others, even as we are desperately, daily in need of divine mercy (Matthew 5:7; Ephesians 4:32). Jesus says:
“O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.” Matthew 12:34
“Set a watch, O LORD, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips.” Psalms 141:3
Personally, I love praying this every morning. The LORD has thus multiplied great grace to my lips in answer to such a request. You may wish to incorporate this prayer of David.
“Thou art fairer than the children of men: grace is poured into thy lips: therefore God hath blessed thee for ever.” Isaiah 45:2
“He that loveth pureness of heart, for the grace of his lips the king shall be his friend.” Proverbs 22:11
