THIS
IS MY BELOVED SON
"God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son (the Word), whom he hath appointed heir of all things (Heir - Presider), by whom also he made the worlds (Creator); Who being the brightness of his glory (Light of the world), and the express image of his person (He’s divine), and upholding all things by the word of his power (Sustainer of all life), when he had by himself purged our sins (Redeemer), sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high (Intercessor);" Hebrews 1:1-3
According to this inspired account, Jesus Christ is:
- The Word
- Heir - Presider over all of creation
- Creator
- Light of the world
- Jesus Christ is the eternal Word - He’s divine
- Sustainer of all life
- Redeemer
- Intercessor for all saints
If it is not in the Son, by whom the Father has sovereignly chosen to speak/communicate to us, God is not pleased in it. When Jesus was water baptized, the Father spoke:
Matthew 3:17 "And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased."
During the transfiguration, the Heavenly Father also had something to say to us with His very own voice:
Matthew 17:5 "While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him."
My life and all ventures of it must come from and go through the Son of God. I am dead and my life is hid with Christ in God (Col. 3:3). God forbid that I should glory in anything or any other than Christ Jesus my Lord with Who's blood I have been purchased (Gal. 6:14). I am not my own (1 Cor. 6:19-20). No pastor or world evangelist was crucified for me (John 3:16). No denomination was given for me (1 Tim. 2:5). The Father His only begotten Son for the ransom of my soul and it would be abominable, unthinkable, and utterly rebellious in light of this, to give glory to anyone but Christ, the only holy Potentate (1 Cor. 2:2; 1 Tim. 6:15; Rev. 5:12).
1 Timothy 6:14-15 "...our Lord Jesus Christ: Which in his times he shall show, who is the blessed and only Potentate (Mighty Prince, Ruler, Great Authority) the King of kings, and Lord of lords;"
PRAYER: Heavenly Father, I know you are holy, just and good. Please forgive my sins of idolatry, where I have gloried in men and organizations, which don't even equal a grain of sand on a million mile beach against who You are. Cleanse me from this idolatry and help me set Jesus up in His rightful place in my heart as my Creator, Savior and Judge. I love you Jesus. I love You Father. Thank You for all that You have given me. May my life be conformed more completely to the image of Christ this day.
