Feeling Good About Yourself?

PRIDE and SELF-RIGHTEOUSNESS DEFUSER PASSAGE!

I am not a good person, neither are you – “There is none righteous, no, not one:” (Romans 3:10) Admit it. The sooner we become HONEST with that which is more than obvious, announcing freely and transparently – that there is “NOOOO good thing” in us except CHRIST, the sooner God will begin a new, deeper work in us! (Romans 7:18, 24) The Cross!

One writer notes writes: “Do we have any idea how sinful we ARE? I remember a time when I thought I was just fine. Then as I started seeking deeper, I realized I had been so dirty! I wonder how dirty I am NOW with things God has yet to reveal. I thank God he works a little at a time and knows we are frail.  Don’t you think the most filthiest sin to God is SELF righteousness? It is belittling the Cross and exalting our efforts. Like a little child thinking they know more than their parents… A disgrace. I desire total crucifixion to this prideful, stinking flesh. I know NOTHING! HE is the wisdom. I am the ignorant. He desires humble, listening ears that will simply DO as he says… I want to be that child.”

The wicked counterfeit feeds on the downfall/sin of others in order to make himself feel better if but for a moment – to alleviate the personal guilt and shame. Repentance and confession of sin is the divine prescription.

“Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things. 2 But we are sure that the judgment of God is according to truth against them which commit such things. 3 And thinkest thou this, O man, that judgest them which do such things, and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God?” Romans 2:1-3

— WHO is your righteousness? YOU OR JESUS? The answer determines your eternal destiny.

YOUR “RIGHTEOUSNESS” – “But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.” Isaiah 64:6

And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:” Philippians 3:9

GOD’S SAVING RIGHTEOUSNESS:

“Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: 25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;” Romans 3:24-25

“For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.” 2 Corinthians 5:21

—- The LORD is good…..That’s why we are saved …. yes He requires are repentance and faith …. “So likewise ye, when ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants: we have done that which was our duty to do.” Luke 17:10

Feeling Good About Yourself?
Think Again

Titus 3
“For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another. 4 But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, 5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; 6 Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour; 7 That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.” Titus 3:3-7

Remember always that justification was due to no goodness of your own. In fact, you and I deserve the full punishment for the myriad of sins we have committed against the holiness of the Almighty. Yet … “For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. 7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. 8 But God commendeth (exhibited; displayed) his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. 10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.” Romans 5:6-10

DID YOU pore prayerfully over Philippians 2:3-5 this morning? As Jesus’ children, this is the way to begin our morning. Doing this will change your life … Feeling Good About Yourself? Let’s deal with that…Never leave before spending time with the LORD in His Word and in prayer communion. Include this Scripture passage …

“Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. 4 Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others. 5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 2:3-5

IF God dealt with you according to what you really deserve, where would you be? DOES any one of us have the slightest clue as to how merciful He’s been to us and also how much we need Him? …. Serious! ….. consider these words of Psalms 103 and please read this chapter over the weekend beloved of Christ …. “He will not always chide: neither will he keep his anger for ever. 10 He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities. 11 For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him. 12 As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us. 13 Like as a father pitieth his children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear him. 14 For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust. 15 As for man, his days are as grass: as a flower of the field, so he flourisheth.” Psalms 103
